Motor Vehicle Access for People with Disabilities for the Use of State Land WYORK Department of JEOF ORTUNIJY Environmental Conservation Motor Vehicle Access for People with Disabilities for the Use of State Land MAPPWD ROUTES Access to: Hunting Fishing Camping Wildlife Observation MAPPWD permit holders are permitted uncommon access to state lands administered by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Permit holders can use a permitted vehicle to travel beyond the reach of public roads, to areas where others must hike or bike. The permit provides access for those who seek solitude, connection to nature, undisturbed wildlife habitat, and inclusion with fellow sportspeople. MAPPWD Routes have been carefully selected to protect natural areas and recreational activities. Access is restricted to designated routes only. This list, updated May 1, 2020, contains all currently permitted routes and supersedes all previous listings. All routes are subject to closure due to seasonal conditions or maintenance. Contact your DEC regional office (page 15) for current information on specific routes. This list is maintained pursuant to DEC Commissioner’s Policy 3 (CP-3). 1 Motor Vehicle Access for People with WYORK Department of JEOF Disabilities for the Use of State Land ORTUNITY Environmental Conservation REGIONAL FORESTRY OFFICES COUNTY REGION ADDRESS PHONE Nassau 1 - Stony Brook NYSDEC Region 1 HQ 631-444-0285 Tel Suffolk SUNY @ Stony Brook 50 Circle Road 631-444-0272 Fax Stony Brook, NY 11790-3409 Attn: John Wernet, Regional Forester Bronx Queens 2 - Long Island NYSDEC Region 2 HQ 718-482-7087 Tel Brooklyn City 1 Hunters Point Plaza 4740 21st Street 718-482-4502 Fax Manhattan Long Island City, NY 11101-5407 Staten Island Attn: Timothy Wenskus, Regional Forester Orange Putnam 3 - New Paltz NYSDEC Region 3 HQ 845-256-3076 Tel Rockland Ulster 21 South Putt Corners Road Dutchess Sullivan New Paltz, NY 12561-1696 845-255-1701 Fax Westchester Attn: Jeff Wiegert, Regional Forester Mike Callan, Supervising F Albany Greene 4 - Schenectady NYSDEC Region 4 HQ 518-357-2155 Tel Rensselaer 1130 North Westcott Road Schenectady, NY 12306-2014 518-357-2460 Fax Columbia Attn: Bill Schongar, Regional Forester Schenectady Delaware 4 - Stamford NYSDEC Region 4 Sub-Office 607-652-7365 Tel Montgomery 65561 State Highway 10, Suite 1 Otsego Jefferson Road 607-652-2342 Fax Stamford, NY 12167-9503 Schoharie Attn: Bill Schongar, Regional Forester Vicki Cross, Supervising Forester Clinton 5 - Ray Brook NYSDEC Region 5 HQ 518-897-1291 Tel Essex 1115 NYS Route 86 Ray Brook, NY 12977-0296 518-897-1372 Fax Franklin Attn: Kris Alberga, Regional Forester Rob Daley, Supervising Forester Sean Reynolds, Supervising Forester CE Saratoga 5 - Warrensburg NYSDEC Region 5 Sub-Office 518-623-1200 Tel Warren 232 Golf Course Road 518-623-3603 Fax Warrensburg, NY 12885 Washington Attn: Ben Thomas, Supervising Forester Fulton 5 - Northville NYSDEC Region 5 Sub-Office 518-863-4545 Tel Hamilton 701 South Main Street Northville, NY 12134 518-863-2546 Fax Attn: Mike Mulligan, Supervising Forester 2 COUNTY REGION ADDRESS PHONE St. Lawrence Lewis 6 – Watertown NYSDEC Region 6 HQ 315-785-2239 Tel 317 Washington Street, SOB Herkimer Oneida Watertown, NY 13601-3787 315-785-2242 Fax Jefferson Attn: Dave Smith, Regional Forester Jefferson 6 - Lowville NYSDEC Region 6 Sub-Office 315-376-3521 Tel Lewis 7327 State Route 812 Lowville, NY 13367 315-376-8059 Fax Attn: Keith Rivers, Supervising Forester Herkimer 6 - Herkimer NYSDEC Region 6 Sub-Office 315-866-6330 Tel Oneida 225 North Main Street P.O. Since the Club was not able to have an annual meeting and our by-laws require the election of officers yearly, the 3500 Club Nominating Committee is asking for your help by responding to this notice. The Club normally votes for our officers at the annual meeting, but, because of COVID-19, New York State law allows us to conduct a mail in vote. We need your timely response by September 30th to stay in compliance with our by-laws. Thank you in advance! As this issue of The Canister went to press, all members in good standing (i.e., a member who is either a life member or is up to date with their dues) have been already notified of the vote. As a reminder, the ballot form can be found here and your responses should be forwarded to this address. Thank you for your timely responses! 1 Trail Spice The President’s Column by Maria Bedo-Calhoun Well…here we are approaching the fall and still adjusting to these different times! I think no one will be surprised that the Annual Dinner is still on hold.
