Maurer has fanned 25 batters over his last 20.0 innings and is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in that three-game span. Maurer is 0-3, 3.71 as a starter, 1-0, 0.00 as a reliever. The New Guys: Outfielder Robbie Anston is off to a hot start since being promoted to Clinton on 5/9…he’s hitting .333 (5-for-15) with a double, three runs scored and an RBI…he’s also drawn seven walks, giving him a .565 OBP. Seattle’s 26 th round pick out of Boston College last year, Anston hit .292 with 24 RBI and 15 steals with short-A Everett last year. Shortstop Jake Schlander is just 2-for-13 (.154) so far, but both hits have driven in a total of four runs including a bases-loaded three-run double for his first hit on 5/10 at Quad Cities. Schlander, Seattle’s 31 st round pick in 2010 out of Stanford University hit .200 with six runs scored in High Desert earlier this year. Infielder Matt Browning is 5-for-16 (.313) with two runs scored and an RBI in four games. Browning, the 43 rd round pick out of James Madison University, hit .222 with six RBI at High Desert this year…he hit .311, four HR and 32 RBI between the AZL and Pulaski.
