he Uttar Pradesh Police TRecruitment Board on Monday announced the results of the exam for recruitment of 41,520 constables. The officials said that recruitment of 23,520 constables would be for the civil police and the rest 18,000 for PAC. The results were declared after thorough checking of marks obtained in written and physical examination test (PET). As many as 22,76,184 aspirants had taken the tests. In the male category, Vijay Mallick of Shamli has topped the exam. Rahul Kumar of Saharanpur is at the second position and Saurabh Kumar Saroj of Jaunpur at third. In the woman category, Princi of Baghpat has topped the exam. Priti of Etawah is at the second position and Palau Solanki of Baghpat at third place. Among the 23,520 select- ed for the civil police, 11,761 are from unreserved category including 2,352 women, 6,350 from OBC category, including 1,220 women, and 4,939 from SC category, including 987 women. The Nagaland boxer, a former Bronze medallist at the Asian Championships, did not give her opponent, Ekaterina Sycheva to settle down and was declared a 5-0 unanimous win- ner. However, the journey ended for Neeraj (60kg), Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) and Pwilao Basumatary (64kg), all of whom had to settle for the Bronze medal following their losses in the semi-finals.
