INVC NEWS New , Prime Minister today gave away the 'Rashtriya Krushi Karman Puraskar' to for its record output of pulses in New Delhi. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh received the cash prize of Rs Two crore and commendation certificate on behalf of the Chhattisgarh farmers. This is the fourth award the State had received during the past five years in the field of agriculture. Three 'Krushi Karman Awards' had been received for record rice production. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Mr. and the farmers of the State for record production of pulses in the entire country. Union Agriculture Minister Mr. and Chhattisgarh Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal were also present at the award ceremony. Two progressive farmers of Bemetara district Mr. Mansingh Verma of village Kohadiya (Berla Development Block) and Mrs. Sunaina Patel of village Batgaon (Saja Development Block) were felicitated with 'Krushi Mantri Krushi Karman Award'. Cash prize of Rs Two lakh each and commendation certificates were given to them. It may be mentioned here that Chhattisgarh had been awarded Rashtriya Krushi Karman Award 2014-2015 for record production of pulses. The pulses had been sown on seven lakh 85 thousand hectare acreage and six lakh 55 thousand metric tonne pulses had been produced which was 39 per cent more than the previous year 2013-2014. The Award ceremony was conducted at Indian Agriculture Research Institute New Delhi. It may be recalled that Chhattisgarh had been rewarded thrice for record rice production at the national-level. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh congratulated the hard-working farmers of the State who brought glory to Chhattisgarh. The farmers have taken to new methods of farming and worked hard to get high yields. Chhattisgarh is known as 'Rice bowl of India' and now it got a new identity of record production of pulses. Dr. Raman Singh thanked Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Mr. Radha Mohan Singh for selecting Chhattisgarh for the prestigious agriculture award at the national level. Dr. Raman Singh congratulated State Agriculture Minister Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal and the Agriculture Department officials and employees for their dedicated work . Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal added that the farmer-friendly policies of Chief Minister Raman Singh are yielding several 'Rashtriya Krushi Karman Awards'. It may be mentioned here that Chhattisgarh had bagged first Krushi Karman Award on 16 July 2011. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh received the award at the hands of the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Chhattisgarh Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh was also present at the ceremony.
