Luggage Allowances

Flying on Safari:

• Going on safari often involves travelling on light aircrafts with much smaller luggage holds which results in weight and size limitations. For this reason, luggage restrictions are highly enforced for the safety of all passengers. Should your luggage exceed the limitations as described below, the bags may not be loaded…Prior arrangements can be made for additional luggage allowances on flights, or to have your luggage safely stored in a storing facility, or if you are not returning to the same , we can arrange to have your additional luggage couriered to your next destination for a fee. Excess luggage remains the responsibility of the affected passenger at all times.

• To accommodate additional luggage on these flights, most of these charter companies have the option of pre-purchasing either additional luggage allowances on their ticket, or the opportunity to book an additional seat in advance. It may not be an available option on the day of departure if this has not been pre-booked. This additional luggage allowance must still meet the restrictions.

• Please be aware that long-haul international flights generally offer a generous weigh allowance, but when travelling on any internal flights within Africa, these allowances are generally at a maximum of only 20kg’s or less for checked luggage. Please see below for specific aircraft specification for the size, weight and types of bags allowed. SA (Lodge Link flights)
