Nous remercions également votre gouvernement d’avoir réagi rapidement pour aider les individus Qui se sont retrouvés sans revenu, comme ce fut le cas des artistes qui ont pour la plupart perdu tous leurs revenus dans un court laps de temps dès l’interdiction des rassemblements publics. Votre gouvernement a rapidement annoncé la Prestation canadienne d’urgence (PCU) pour venir en aide aux travailleurs et travailleuses et l’a adapté pour répondre aux multiples réalités du terrain, dont celle des artistes et travailleurs et travailleuses culturels qui continuaient à gagner de maigres revenus. Certains secteurs d’activités économiQues ont repris. C’est tout autre pour certains secteurs dont la reprise complète ne peut se faire Qu’une fois le confinement terminé, comme c’est le cas pour le secteur des arts et des industries culturelles. Par exemple, au Nouveau- Brunswick, les grands rassemblements, les événements et les concerts sont interdits jusQu’au 31 décembre 2020. Cela signifie Que de nombreux artistes et travailleurs et travailleuses culturels ne pourront pas travailler et auront encore besoin d’une aide d’urgence. C’est pourQuoi nous vous demandons de prolonger la PCU pour les travailleurs et travailleuses encore paralysés par la pandémie, comme c’est le cas pour les artistes et les travailleurs et travailleuses culturels. …/2 En ce Qui a trait à la relance économiQue au Canada, l’AAAPNB vous offre son aide tout entière. Notre organisation souhaite que les artistes et que le secteur des arts et des industries culturelles puisse reprendre de sa vivacité et ainsi contribuer au mieux-être des citoyennes et citoyens. En plus de notre capacité d’être au diapason des artistes professionnel.le.s sur notre territoire, nous sommes également en mesure de consulter l’ensemble de l’écosystème des arts et de la culture, soit les organismes, évènements et entreprises.     Mr. Speaker, Honourable Members of the Legislative Assembly, invited guests and all New Brunswickers. Welcome to the opening of the Second Session of the 58th Legislative Assembly of the Province of New Brunswick. Your government remains focused on three priorities: making the choices that must be made to get our finances in order so we can invest in the priorities of New Brunswickers; growing the provincial economy to create new jobs; and making strategic investments in programs like health and education to make New Brunswick the best place to raise a family. Governments across Canada and around the world are facing change. Whether these changes are due to shifting demographics or financial pressures, these governments are looking at ways to deliver services in a better and more cost-effective manner to meet the needs of their citizens. Strategic Program Review is the means by which government will deliver on these priorities. Strategic Program Review is about more than just achieving balanced budgets. It is about making choices that will allow the province to have a sustainable budget into the future and afford the health, education and other social services that New Brunswickers expect and deserve, while creating the conditions for new jobs. Much has occurred that warrants our recognition since the last session of the New Brunswick Legislature.
