Previously, he had served as Head of Apparatus in the Ministry of Education. Having graduated as an economist from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and as a lawyer from the Azerbaijan University, Mr. Bayramov held various positions at the Ministry of Justice. In addition, he worked at significant law companies in Baku, such as “Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn (Baku) Limited” or “OMNI”, where he served as its director. From 2004-2012, Mr. Bayramov was annually included in the list of leading lawyers in taxation and civil rights in Azerbaijan by leading international law publications such as “Chambers Global” or “Legal500”. Mr. Mikheil Chkhenkeli Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Chkhenkeli is part of the current Georgian Cabinet, holding the post of the Minister of Education and Science. He had previously been Vice Rector at the Tbilisi State University. Having received numerous awards for academic and pedagogic activities, as well as various scientific research grants and scholarships, Mr. Chkhenkeli was most recently awarded with the Ivane Javakhishvili Medal for special merit and productive organizational activities rendered for Tbilisi State University. Furthermore, he is member of a great number of scientific research societies. Mr. Chkhenkeli graduated from Tbilisi State University at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and received his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the scientific degree of Doctor of Mathematics. Today, he can refer to 20 years of teaching experience at leading U.S. universities, comprising his involvement in various academic committees, such as the Goldwater Scholarship Committee, as well as scientific conferences and publications. 4 Prof. Mustafa Babanli Rector, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University Prof. Mustafa Babanli was appointed Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ASOIU) in September 2015. Prior to this position, he served as Vice Rector for International Relations at the Azerbaijan Technical University. From 2010, he also worked as elected professor of the Metallurgy and Metal Sciences Chair. After his cum laude graduation from the faculty of Engineering and Physics at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, he started his career at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. He further obtained a PhD in physics and mathematics from the National Academic of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences at the Dissertation Council of the Azerbaijan Technical University. Dr. Kakha Shengelia IAUP President Rector of the Caucasus University, Dr. Shengelia has been holding the presidency of the International Association of University Presidents since July 2017, being the IAUP’s youngest president so far. His previous political career comprises significant leadership roles within the Georgian parliament and Tbilisi Vice-Mayorship. Dr. Shengelia earned his PhD in Georgian History and MA in International Relations from the Tbilisi State University, and the MBA Degree from the University of Hartford. Dr. Gerald Reisinger IAUP Secretary General Dr. Gerald Reisinger has held the position of Managing Director of FH OÖ Management GmbH and Head of FH Upper Austria since 2004 and IAUP Secretary General since 2017. He joined the service of the Federal Ministry of Defense as a career officer and studied law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. After completing a BWL intensive course at the Business Development Institute, Gerald Reisinger continued his career as a managing director and partner in the areas of personnel and management consulting as well as in the real estate industry. 5 MODERATION Dr. Jamila Ismayilzada Head of International Cooperation Department, Azerbaijan State Oil & Industry University Head of IAUP Baku 2018 Semi-Annual Meeting Organizational Team Mrs. Jamila Ismayilzada has been working as Head of International Cooperation Department at the Azerbaijan State Oil & Industry University since 2015. She obtained her BA in International Relations from the Baku State University and MA in International Relations from the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Prior to joining the ASOIU, Mrs. Jamila Ismayilzada has accumulated a rich managerial experience in private sector. In her capacity, she has been instrumental in developing the university`s external relations and overseeing international projects. Dr. Fariz Ismailzade Vice-Rector of External, Government and Student Affairs at ADA University Dr. Fariz Ismailzade has been serving as Vice Rector of ADA University since 2007. His responsibilities comprise the management of the international relations of the university with the diplomatic corps, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies, the supervision

    Baku News and Events May 2013 Hungarian WizzAir Company will launch Budapest-Baku-Budapest flights - Nijat Mustafayev - APA The Hungarian WizzAir Company will launch a Budapest-Baku-Budapest flight on June 17, 2013, said the WizzAir’s Director Gyorgy Abran. According to him, ticket sales have already begun: “The flights from Budapest to Baku will be implemented on Mondays and Fridays at 20:35 (local time) and from Baku to Budapest – on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 03:55.” Abran noted that the Air Company has 40 Airbus A-320 aircrafts and the company will increase the number of aircrafts to 45 this year. For the present, the company has flights on more than 270 routes (33 countries). It carried 12 million passengers last year and this year is expected to reach 13.5 million. It is well known for flying all over Europe to 89 destinations including Warsaw, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Riga, and London. The current price is 120-150 euro from Baku to Budapest. Baku Charity Triathlon The 9th annual Baku Charity Triathlon will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The race is a sprint-distance triathlon: 500m swim, 20km bike, 5 km run. The swim will take place at the Hyatt Oasis Club indoor pool during the morning, while the afternoon bike and run will take place at Stonepay Royal Park. The categories are an Open Race (men and women), an over 40’s race (men and women), an over 50s race (men and women) and two team races – teams of two or teams of three (no gender difference here).

He was born into the family of an impoverished nobleman Asad bay, who served as a translator at the district administration, in the village of Agbulag 6 kilometers from the city of Shusha on 17 May 1870. Having lost his father at the age of three, the boy was raised by his stepfather Hasanali bay Sadigov, an educated man who introduced him to the Russian lan- guage and taught him how to read and write. In 1880, the family moved to Shusha, the main city of Karabakh, where Abdurrahim entered the city’s six-grade school and a year later moved to a fully-fledged school. In 1890, he continued his studies in Tiflis, the then administra- tive and cultural center of the Caucasus. A year later, having received a certificate of maturity, he entered the Institute of Railway Engineers in St. Petersburg. While studying to be a railway engineer, he attended lectures on literature at the Eastern Faculty of St. Petersburg 4 www.irs-az.com 45, AUTUMN 2020 University as an external student. Hagverdiyev was seri- ously engaged in studying Persian and Arabic, as well as oriental philology. The session appealed to the Presidium of Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan and Armenia with the request that they treat with understanding the decision to sever the NKAR from Azerbaijan SSR and transfer it to Armenian SSR. It was also applied to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for the positive solution of this issue. February 22,1988 Two young Azerbaijanis were killed by Armenians in Askeran February 28,1988 Bloody outrages were perpetrated by Armenian instigators in Sumgait March 24, 1988 By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Azerbaijan SSR an official prohibition was imposed on activity of separatist organization "Krung" to be accused of breeding strife among the peoples. Abdurrahman Vezirov was elected the first secretary of the Central May 21,1988 Committee of the Azerbaijan Communist Party. The session of the Council of People's Deputies of the NKAR July 12, 1988 adopted an illegal decree on annexation of autonomous region to the Armenian SSR. July 18, 1988 The issue “About decisions of the Supreme Councils of the Armenian SSR and the Azerbaijan SSR regarding Nagorno- Karabakh” was discussed at the enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Council.
