A “Be Safe” pedestrian campaign in Israel included the distribution of 5 000 workbooks as well as 5 000 crosswalk shirts for school children. Kenya conducted a drawing competition in schools to get the message across and backed it with a high profi le “Walk to School.” In Nigeria, 100 students were trained in aspects of pedestrian safety, with the aim of having them then train others, who could then train others and so on. In the United Arab Emirates, the focus was on creating a schools programme that could be used in all schools as a prime educational safety tool. A key element of the S-Track projects was the publicity and media exposure around the events and activities, taking the safety message to a wider audience.
The 2013 S-Track projects broadened the overall scope of the RSGP by giving a funding opportunity to Clubs that may lack the resources and capabilities to apply for M-Track and L-Track projects.
