PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The LPO works every day to improve the environmental integration of renewable energies. Regarding wind power, this commitment has been carried out for 15 years now through a partnership between the LPO, the Ministry of the Environment, Ademe and wind energy developers (SER/FEE) within the "Wind energy and Wildlife impacts programme". In this framework, the LPO organizes this seminar on 21st and 22nd November in Artigues-près-. It will bring together wind energy stakeholders, researchers, naturalists and national authorities during two days in order to share knowledge and experience about terrestrial and marine environments. It will be an opportunity to establish a state of knowledge on the potential impacts of wind farms, how to assess and mitigate them, aiming at conciliating development objectives of renewable energies with an appropriate protection of wildlife. The Wind Energy and Wildlife seminar will take place at the Atlantica Campus in Artigues-près-Bordeaux (https://www.campus-atlantica.fr), located in a 4 ha park, less than 30 minutes by car from the airport Bordeaux-Mérignac, Bordeaux-Saint-Jean railway station and Bordeaux city center and 2 hours from Paris with the new TGV Paris-Bordeaux line. The speeches will take place in the Pôle Conférences/Agora amphitheater, with a capacity of 250 seats, and will be simultaneously translated into English-French by two interpreters. Free headsets must be booked when registering online through Weezevent and will be given during the signing of the attendance sheet.
