Gyrenes Weekly October 28 - November 3, 2013 GYRENE NEWS RECENT RESULTS Football Monday, Oct. 21 - The Gyrene football team will return to AMU Football Field for the last time this fall Men’s Soccer won at Trinity Baptist, 5-1 when they host Edward Waters on senior day at 1 p.m. Over the weekend, Ave Maria was able to extend its win streak to five games, taking down Webber International 28-13. Scott Wednesday, Oct. 23 - Jones rushed the ball 26 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns and Travis Makauskas Men’s Soccer lost at Webber International, 8-0 had five receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Gyrenes. Clayton Ueck- er finished 12 of 23 for 251 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Gyrene Thursday, Oct. 24 - defense had three interceptions and five sacks on the afternoon. The defense was led by Women’s Soccer lost at S.C.A.D., 8-0 Tanner Bowling who had eight solo tackles and four assists with two tackles for losses and a sack. Gage Hayes had two interceptions and Tyrell Everett also had an interception. Friday, Oct. 25 - Volleyball lost at Warner, 3-0 Men’s Soccer The Ave Maria Gyrenes men’s soccer team will return to action this week to wrap-up their Saturday, Oct. 26 - 2013 regular season schedule. The final two games will be against Sun Conference op- Cross Country at Asics Sand Shark Invite, M-23rd; W-17th ponents Southeastern and Warner University. Last week the Gyrenes went 1-1, defeating Women’s Soccer lost at South Carolina-Beaufort, 5-1 Trinity Baptist College and losing to Webber International University. The victory over Women’s Basektball lost at Rollins (Exh.), 72-50 the Eagles of Trinity Baptist saw the Gyrenes battle out of an early 1-0 hole to record five Football defeated Webber International, 28-13 unanswered goals to pull away for the victory. In Monday’s win vs. Trinity Baptist, Andres Volleyball lost at Webber International, 3-0 Guerra, Alex Zigarevich, Michael O’Donnell, Cameron Popik and Carl Bishop all found Men’s Soccer vs. Warner, postponed the back of the net to contribute to the route of the Eagles. Women’s Soccer UPCOMING SCHEDULE The Lady Gyrenes will wrap up their 2013 regular season schedule, this Wednesday when they travel to take on Palm Beach Atlantic University. Thomas Mullally (28:46.22), John Gargano (30:48.99), and Erin McLaugh- lin (37:18.88) rounded out the five placers for the Gyrenes. The AMU women’s squad notched a 17th place team finish, led by Lauren Dunleavy 43rd place finish (19:46.43). Alison Bilafer (21:43.48), Kiersa Polley (22:57.34), Gianna Gambera (22:58.46), and Han- nah Cusack (25:26.89) rounded out the five scorers for AMU. The Gyrenes will be back in SPORTS INFORMATION action on November 9th, when they travel back to Bluffton, S.C. for the Sun Conference Championships.
