Welcome

Which? was started more than 50 years ago by a volunteer group working out of a garage in London’s Bethnal Green. Today, Which? is a household name, the UK consumers’ champion and the largest national consumer organisation in Europe, with over 700,000 politically engaged members. More than 90% of our members voted in the 2010 General Election, compared with a national average turnout of 65%. Here, for the Conservative Party Conference, we share with you some of the fantastic work we do to make consumers – that’s YOU – more powerful and to create positive change on their behalf. In the current economic climate, and with our new coalition government having just taken office, making the consumer voice heard is more important than ever. It’s not rocket science; ever since Which? was founded in 1957 we have known that keeping consumers happy is a win-win formula for consumers, business and government alike. I hope you enjoy this unique edition of Which? produced specially for the 2010 party conference season. It seeks to bring together the best of Which? so that not only is it useful to you at the party conference but also tells you a little about the enormous range of work we do and the issues we are working on. We’d love to hear your feedback, so feel free to email us at [email protected]. Or join the Which? Conversation at www.whichconversation.co.uk, where you can have your say on the stories we cover.
