Telephone 0191 2290015 Email: [email protected] SHOW NEWS 2019 This year Powburn show will take place on Saturday the 3rd August 2019 from 9a.m. and the sheep dog trials will be held on Saturday the 20th July 2019, again this will take place at Brandon Whitehouse and hosted again by Roy Dods after a very successful 2018 event. The very popular Hill race will start this year at 11 a.m. from the rear of the marquee, again, the access road will be closed for 15 minutes for the safety of the runners. This attracted many runners from in and out of the area, 2018 was particularly hot, well done to all those who competed. New for 2019 is clay pigeon shooting, this will take place on Sunday the 4th of August to avoid any distress to the pony and dog sports. However, the clay pigeon event holders will be available on the Saturday for advice and booking details. Attractions for 2019 are the traditional game of Quoits – prize for the winner, return of the vintage cars, music by local band ‘Heads on the Block’, terriers and dog show and lots more to keep your entertained. For the younger members of the family there will be go-carting. Also face painting, this is free for them to enjoy, along with the usual pony sports, children’s sports and activities We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the advertisers and sponsors, notably NE concrete and Penny Petroleum for their continued support and Nigel Dods for the use of his field. We will look forward to welcoming you on the day and let’s hope the weather is as beautiful as last year, to kick off the show season.
