Tues Ship Model Society: Sail at Millhouses Pond (Yachts, Fast Electric boats and Scale Models) 2nd Millhouses Park Pond Start 9.00am Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, usually from about 9am and we tend to finish once the paddle boats start coming on. During the year we will be having yacht racing on occasional Thursday mornings. Monthly Meetings are held in the Club House, adjacent to the pond, on the 2nd Tuesday. Start 7:00pm All are welcome to bring a boat down (it is a public pond)

Sat Beauchief Environment Group: Summer Afternoon Get-Together 6th Meet: 2.00 pm Beauchief Abbey, Beauchief Abbey Lane A BEG led family-friendly stroll through the area to see and record the wild flowers in bloom, and to have a go at identifying and photographing them. Then taking a rest with snacks and drinks in Gulleys Wood Meadow.

Sat Friends of the Porter Valley: ‘Invertebrate Investigation for the Whole Family’ 6th Forge Dam cafe 10.00am – 11.30as Amanda Childs, of Sparking STEM, will guide children and their families to explore the undergrowth of Forge Dam to find and learn about the insects and invertebrates living there. There will be entomological activities for children and opportunities to gently catch, identify and learn about a range of invertebrates while appreciating their importance in the ecosystem. Sat Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust: Volunteer work day on Blacka Moor 6th Blacka Moor is on the A625 out of Sheffield a few hundred yards on the left before Fox House. 10am – 3pm Practical volunteer days at Blacka Moor are held on the first Saturday and third Thursday every month. Tasks vary from footpath improvements and access work, to habitat and vegetation management. Gloves, tools, and refreshments are provided, but wear suitable outdoor clothes and boots, and bring some lunch and drinking water if you're able to come for the whole day. Sat/Sun Concerteenies at the Folk Forest 2019 6th/7th Endcliffe Park A whole weekend of festival style live music for 0-3 year olds! Concerteenies runs a weekend long special marquee stage exclusively for 0-3 year olds and their grown-ups, giving audiences the unique opportunity to hear live, quality music in a baby and toddler friendly environment. Sat/Sun Totley Open Gardens 6th/7th Various gardens around Totley 12.30pm – 5.30pm Programmes with addresses and a map cost £4 and can be bought from Totley Library or from 170 Baslow Road on the day. Cream teas are available in 2 places, plants are being sold in some gardens, and toilets available in others. Entry £1 (kids free) Sun Charity Fun Run: 71st Birthday of the NHS 7th Millhouses Park 9.00am – 11.00am This year we're giving you the opportunity to do a 5k or 10k course around the park, so whether you're a keen runner, or running for the first time there's something for everyone. The event is open to anyone, you don't have to be a member of staff or one of our service users - everyone is welcome. To fit with the theme of celebrating everything we love about the NHS on its birthday we're asking all our runners to wear as much of the colour blue as you can fit in your outfit.
