Sept. 1931 Bennett rejects proposed Montreal Power offer and agrees to guarantee Beauharnois bank loans. 16 Nov. 1931 King returns trust money to McDougald. 19 Nov. 1931 Sweezey, McDougald, and Henry resign. May 1941 Quebec legislature authorizes nationalization of Montreal Power and subsidiaries. 14 May 1944 Quebec Hydro Electric Commission is created and takes over Beauharnois and Montreal Power works. 17 March 1961 Construction of last Beauharnois phase is completed.
