Washington has reached the postseason for the 13th time in 14 seasons (since 2007-08), one of two clubs to do so in 2020-21 – the Pittsburgh Penguins have extended their active run to 15 straight postseason appearances. 2. The Capitals’ run of seven consecutive postseason appearances is the second-longest stretch in franchise history (14 straight trips from 1983 to 1996). It also is the second-longest active run in the NHL behind the Penguins (15; 2007–2021) and ahead of the Nashville Predators (6; 2015–2020) – Nashville can match Washington this season. 3.     1988-89 OPC Set of 270 1988-89 O-Pee-Chee Set of 270 (loose stickers) 4 Key Rookie (RC) Stickers Joe Nieuwendyk, Bret Hull, Bob Probert and Sean Burke. Sticker History This was the second O-Pee-Chee sticker series where the sticker backs were printed on more glossy cardboard stock than the thinner paper backings of the previous 7-8 years. There were 182 physical stickers in this set with 88 of those sharing a number with another sticker. The quality of the cut of the sticker seeemed to improve after they worked out all of the kinks from the 1987 O-Pee-Chee run. For the second year in a row, the traditional sticker package that had to be “ripped” open from their vaccuum package, was replaced by wax type packs that were only previously used to encase hockey cards. O-Pee-Chee distributed these stickers out of London, Ontario in Canada. Sticker Facts The size of each full sticker is 5.4 cm X 7.6 cm (2.13 in X 3 in). There were 48 packages in each wax box which originally retailed for $0.30 CAD per pack. Each package contained 5 stickers. Hammond, 33 (2/11/88), was assigned to the Minnesota Wild taxi squad on Jan. 13, 2021 and did not appear in a game during the 2020-21 season. He went 16-12-3 with a 2.53 goals-against average (GAA), a .908 save percentage (SV%) and four shutouts in 33 games with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2019-20. He ranked T-3rd in the AHL in shutouts. The 6-foot-2, 223-pound native of Surrey, B.C., went 19-12-2 with a 2.81 GAA, a .908 SV% and three shutouts in 33 regular season contests with the Iowa Wild in 2018-19. Hammond also posted a 5-6 record with a 2.46 GAA, a .912 SV% and two shutouts in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games in 2019. He is 27-15-6 with a 2.31 GAA, a .923 SV% and four shutouts in 56 career NHL games (49 starts) in parts of five NHL seasons with Ottawa (2013-17) and Colorado (2017-18). Hammond is 1-3 with a 3.00 GAA and a .924 SV% in five career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Ottawa (2014-15) and Colorado (2017-18).
