Riders will jump a round of show jumps and head straight out on to the cross country. Cross country attire and body protectors compulsory, no fixed peak hats allowed.

Health and Safety The organizer of this event has taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present is protected. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organizer, Judge, Stewards and officials

Directions From: A30 come off at (Whiddon Down). Follow the Winkleigh signpost to join the A3124. The course is approx. 4 miles from this junction. From: town follow the A377 toward and onto Morchard road station, turn left on the B3220 towards Winkleigh. Just before Winkleigh village take the left onto the A3124 towards . We are approx 1 mile on the left. From: / take your chosen route to Winkleigh village then follow signs toward A3124 (North Tawton) we will be 1 mile from Winkleigh on the left on the A3124. From: A30 come off at ( Junction) and follow signposts towards (Follygate/) A386. After (Follygate) turn right onto the A3072 towards (North Tawton/Winkleigh). Follow signposts to (North Tawton/Winkleigh) and turn left onto the A3124. The course is approx. 4 miles from this junction.

Rules

1. The event will be run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2014. A full copy of the rules is available from Pony club Headquarters, Stoneleigh. Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.CV8 2RW at a cost of £3.00 or view online www.pcuk.org 2. It is the responsibility of all competitors to understand the rules of Pony Club Eventing and to follow the dress and tack rules as stated in the 2014 rule book. 3. Anyone mounted must wear a hard hat with a harness properly adjusted and fastened. PC members & all riders must wear a hat to the standard in the current rule book (PAS 015:1998, EN 1384: BSEN 1384 1997, Snell E2001, AS/NZS 3838 1998, AS/NZS 3838 2003). For cross country a skull cap with no fixed peak must be worn to the above standards. Chin straps must be fastened at all times when mounted. Pony Club Members - hats must be Pony Club tagged 4. Body Protectors must be worn in both phases (showjumping & cross country. If wearing the “Woof Wear Locking Form” of body protector, please hand the key, in an envelope marked with their name & number to the paramedic before they go cross country. It is their responsibility to collect it afterwards 5. The use of a stop watch on the cross country is forbidden. 6. The Pony Club “Spur Rule” will apply to Pony Club members competing in classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. Spurs maybe worn if the rider can produce a current membership card at each phase of the competition signed by your DC giving permission to ride your named pony with spurs during 2014 7. No Jewellery 8. Long hair must be tied up not only for safety but also to ensure fence judges can clearly see numbers on bib. 9. Refunds of entries will only be given on production of a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate. 10. Medical armbands are now compulsory on the cross country; these will be available for sale on the day (£5.00). 11. Electronic devices (i.e. headphones, mobile phones etc. enabling another person to communicate with the rider) are not allowed whilst the rider is competing. No recording device is permitted (e.g. head / bridle cameras etc.) 12. No outside assistance may be given in classes 1, 2, 3 & 4 13. At Levels 3, 4 & 5, competitors incurring more than 24 Show jumping penalties will not be allowed to go Cross Country. Competitors at Levels 1 & 2 may be allowed to do so only at the discretion of the Official Steward. At all Levels, competitors eliminated for technical reasons (e.g. starting before the bell or an error of course) may be allowed to go Cross Country at the discretion of the Official Steward. 14. If the class is oversubscribed riders will be restricted to two horse entries if you wish to enter more than 2 horses please state first and second choice on entry form 15. Objections must be lodged in writing with £20.00 deposit. 16. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. 17. Competitors and families may not approach the scorer’s domain. Any queries must be directed to the organiser. 18. Only those fences marked in the warm-up areas may be used for practice. No galloping or cantering outside the warm- up areas please. 19. The organizers and landowners are not responsible for any accident, damage or loss to competitors, horses or spectators howsoever caused. 20. The judges’ decision is final.
