Dist. 23 scholarships go to four students Three bridge-playing local high school seniors received $1000 scholarships yesterday at a special presentation just before the start of the afternoon game. A fourth youngster also earned a scholarship but was unable to be present. Rand Pinsky, District 23 president, presented the awards.. Actually the scholarships will be worth more than $1000. As long as the youngsters maintain at least a B average and carry a full academic load, they will receive an extra $1000 each year. District 23 has been making these scholarship presentations for 10 years. The recipients: Cecilia Chen will pursue a degree and graduate work in the arts.
