We can get through it together - Cllr Michael Wilson, Leader

"This weekend the Government raised our response to coronavirus to Tier 4. This means new restrictions that require us all to stay at home.

"The new rules affect not just Havant itself but the wider borough, including Emsworth, Hayling Island, Waterlooville and Leigh Park.

"This has been done following a sharp increase in coronavirus infection rates in the area and it is vitally important we follow the new rules and curb the spread of this virulent disease.

"Of course, it will affect all our plans for Christmas and will no doubt disappoint many people who had been planning to see loved ones over the festive period.

"It will also have a serious impact on our shops and businesses who have already suffered so much this year. "But despite the difficulty, I urge everyone to stick together and stick to the rules laid out in this newsletter and on the government's website. The more we do now, the sooner we will be through this crisis and looking forward to a brighter 2021."
