Email Scams MPH employees received an email last week from a person who was pretending to be one of our clergy. The email simply asked “are you available?”, and if you replied, then response asked you to buy $300 in gift cards for ‘me’. This is a pretty common internet scam, known as ‘phishing.’

So, a couple of reminders: None of the priests, , or employees of our parishes will ever send you an email, asking you to buy gift cards or send money to them. If you get one of these emails, please ignore it. You can tell that you’re being “phished” by looking carefully at the “From:” line in the email. No matter what the name is, you should take a look at the real email address that the email is coming from. If you receive one of these emails or are ever in doubt please contact the parish office for more information.

MARRIAGE MOMENTS

"Vanity of vanities...All things are vanity "(Eccl 1: 2) Let's face it, all of us are vain to some extent. We want to look good to others. Perhaps one of the few people who will give us honest feedback about our faults is your spouse. Share one weakness that you observe in your beloved today but balance it with one thing that makes you proud of your beloved. Humbly accept both.

PARENTING POINTERS

"Stop lying to one another." (Col 3:9) Usually people don't lie because they are bad, evil people but rather because they are afraid or want to protect themselves. Talk with your family about whether there is ever a time when a lie is acceptable?
