Operating 2 hours prior to the start of the match and 1 hour post match. CLOSE TO THE G:LINK Ride the G:link free with your valid match day entry, then catch the free shuttle bus from Broadbeach South Station. GETTING TO THE GAME DRIVING PARKING Unfortunately there is no public parking available at Metricon Stadium on event days and parking restrictions will be enforced in the areas surrounding the stadium. Valid parking permits are required to access Metricon Stadium’s car parks, without these vehicles will be refused entry. All permit holders are advised to refer to the stadium precinct map within this guide for specific locations of Metricon Stadium car parks or on the reverse side of their parking permit. A limited number of Persons With a Disability (PWD) car parking spaces are available in the Red Car Park at Metricon Stadium for holders of a valid, government issued disability parking permit. These car parks will be issued to customers on a first in, first served basis on event day. Please enquire via your Gold Coast SUNS contact. BOOWAGGAN ROAD PARK ‘N’ RIDE (Cnr of Boowaggan Road and Robina Parkway, Merrimac) This free car park opens approximately 2.5 hours prior to the start of the match and will close approximately 1 hour post match. Park your car then jump on the free return shuttle bus to Metricon Stadium. Please note there is limited parking available at this location. GETTING TO THE GAME TAXI For all GC SUNS events a designated taxi rank operates in front of the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre. The closest stadium entry/exit point for the taxi rank is Gate 3. Taxis are permitted to drop off and pick up passengers at this location only. UBER & PUBLIC DROP OFF A public drop off and pick up point is located opposite Metricon Stadium on Nerang-Broadbeach Road, next to the Blue Car Park. Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride and Nerang Station are also drop off and pick up locations. Patrons in possession of a valid match day entry can then board one of the free event shuttle buses to and from Metricon Stadium. COACH, MINI BUS & LIMOUSINES A limited number of coach parking spaces are available in the Blue Car Park at Metricon Stadium for $25 per vehicle. Hire vehicles (limousines) holding an L, SL or HC licence plate are permitted to drop off and pick up at Metricon Stadium in the Red Car Park outside Gate 5. Limousines who intend to re-enter the car park to collect their guests at the end of the event are required to collect a limousine re-entry pass on exit from the Red Car Park attendant. Several clubs increased their support over the last year including 2018 Premiers West Coast Eagles, surprise 2018 Preliminary Finalists Melbourne and this year’s ‘bolter’ the second-placed Brisbane Lions. Reigning AFL Premiers West Coast Eagles had the biggest increase lifting their support base by a huge 186,000 (+34%) to 733,000 to be Australia’s second most widely supported AFL club. E Melbourne surprised many by getting within one victory of a first Grand Final in nearly two decades in 2018 and this run to the Preliminary Final has helped boost Melbourne’s support by 44,000 (+22.2%) to 242,000 while the Brisbane Lions have increased their support by 84,000 (+19.5%) to 515,000. Other teams to increase their support over the last year include the Fremantle Dockers who moved into the new Perth Stadium in 2018 up by 14,000 (+3.9%) to 371,000; Port Adelaide which saw support increase 17,000 (+6.6%) to 276,000; North Melbourne for which support increased 16,000 (+7,6%) to 226,000; and the GWS Giants up by 13,000 to 190,000.
