UDDEHOLM CALDIE ® Uddeholm Caldie is an ESR steel developed specifically for severe cold work applications with high demands on toughness. A combination of good galling and wear resistance and very good chipping resistance gives it a great properties profile for tough work jobs and substrate for coatings. It also has very good weldability, machinability and grindability, which means it can help you to reduce your time to market.

UDDEHOLM DIEVAR ® Uddeholm Dievar offers an unparalleled resistance to heat checking, gross cracking, hot wear and plastic deformation. This makes it highly suitable in severe hot work applications such as die casting, and and especially for larger tools/dies. The same properties also make it a good choice in plastic moulding.

UDDEHOLM MIRRAX ® 40 Complicated mould designs are made easy with Uddeholm Mirrax 40. It is pre-hardened, and has excellent machinability, two factors that will allow you to drastically reduce your lead times for mould manufacturing. It is an excellent choice for corrosive and recycled plastics, as well as complicated mould designs where heat treatment can cause distortion or dimensional changes and also where polishability is important.

UDDEHOLM MIRRAX ® ESR Uddeholm Mirrax ESR is specially developed and adapted for long production runs and larger moulds that require a combination of excellent corrosion resistance, high toughness and high polishability. It is the perfect choice for larger tools and when highest surface quality is required, for instance in high quality transparent articles.

UDDEHOLM NIMAX ® Uddeholm Nimax is a modern, pre-hardened plastic moulding tool steel and one of the most widely used steel grades in our portfolio. Its excellent machinability and weldability properties, combined with good toughness and polishability make it popular with toolmakers and tool users alike. Uddeholm Nimax also allows for shortened mould production and lead times as it is pre-hardened.

UDDEHOLM ORVAR ® SUPREME Suitable for both hot work applications and plastic moulding, Uddeholm Orvar Supreme is an “all-round” steel grade. High hot strength and heat checking resistance, as well as high toughness and very good polishability, make this steel perfect for long production runs in dies/moulds and components where high mechanical and thermal stresses are involved. UDDEHOLM SLEIPNER ® Uddeholm Sleipner is a very versatile, general purpose steel for cold work tooling. With its high hardness (>60 HRC), high compressive strength, and good machinability, it is recommended for medium run tooling applications where a resistance to mixed or abrasive wear and a good resistance to chipping are required.

UDDEHOLM STAVAX ® ESR Uddeholm Stavax ESR is a premium stainless mould steel for small and medium inserts and cores that combines corrosion and wear resistance with excellent polishability, good machinability and stability in hardening.

UDDEHOLM UNIMAX ® Exceptionally high ductility makes Uddeholm Unimax a problem solver in cold work applications where extreme chipping resistance is required, such as heavy duty blanking and cold forging. UDDEHOLM VANADIS ® 10 This high vanadium alloyed PM tool steel combines one of the highest wear resistances on the market with good chipping resistance. Typical applications where Uddeholm Vanadis 10 excels are blanking, forming, and cold forging with high demands on wear resistance.

UDDEHOLM VANCRON ® 40 The star of cold work applications is Uddeholm Vancron 40, with an impressive properties profile, such as excellent wear and galling resistances. It is a nitrogenated PM tool steel with the surface coating already integrated into the tooling material which means it is ideal for severe production conditions and very long production runs where galling is an issue, e.g. forming of stainless steel.
