Riighaye (Osman Ibrahim the family rulers in the late 13th to early 14th century)

Gerad Abdullahi Kooge Mahamud Hartie The first Sultan of the Sultanate 1298-1311, known as Gerad Abdulahi, he is the founder of the Warsangali Sultanate in the late 13th Century in the of what is known in present day as northern . As well-known in history, Somali imperial ruling house, Gerad Dhidhin’s Dynasty governed much of northeastern and some part of southeastern Somalia, such as Kismayo. It was one of the largest Sultanates ever established in the territory, and at the height of its power, included Sannag region and parts of the northeastern Bari region of the country, an area historically known as or Maakhir Cost.

Hassan Gerad Abdullahi Dhidhin (Hamer Gale) Successor The Second Sultan of the warsangali Sultanate 1311-1328 Hassan Hamar Gale was born to a Royal Warsangali Family, as the son of Gerad Dhiidhin, the founder of Warsangali Sultanate. He succeeded his father as sultan in 1311. Hamar Gale departed his clan’s traditional stronghold in northern-day Somalia for the ancient southeastern city Mogadishu (known as Xamar) and district round town which his nickname is a direct reference. His nickname thus literally translates as “Mogadishu Settlers” After Hamar Gale eventually left Mogadishu; he is believed to have then established a permanent settlement elsewhere. His modern descendents that still reside in the region between the southern middle Shebelle River and the Banadir Zone have preserved the Warsangali clan name denoted their ancestral origin. However, they have since completely integrated into the Abgal, the main Sub-clan in Mogadishu, Mahadey, Jowhar. Hamar Gale continued to assume leadership of the Warsangali Sultanate until 1328, when he was succeeded by Gerad Ibrahim Hassan Hamar Gale 1328-1340.

Gerad Ibrahim Hassan Hamar Gale had two sons: his successor Osman Ibrahim Hassan Hamar Gale, and Omar Ibrahim Hassan Hamar Gale. Osman Ibrahim Hassan Hamar Gale was succeeded by Riighaye who established, what was known as the first kingdom ever created in the Warsangali Sultanate in 1340 in the cost Maakhir, which contains Ports of northeastern Bari region of the country, an area historically known as Maakhir or Maakhir cost

In the late 14th century, the influential Ali Dable who was exiled in , returned with cannon fire. After a fierce fight he defeated the Kindom of Riighaye. History tells the Lasqory ports, Burun Ports, Bulhaare, Mydh Bari region even Zayla ports, one day sailed out 58 boats direct to gulf and far to Colombo Sirilanca.

After the defeat, a few of the Riighaye families and most of the Awramale (Also known as cloud followers) migrated to South Somalia lower juba Kismayo, Bay, Bardhere, and Dinsor the Sultanate. Awramale settled in the city traditional strongholds of Dinsor and Kismayo, whereas, many families of Riighaye settled in the Bay region Bardhere when they departed their clan’s traditional strongholds in the Bari/northern region, modern day Somalia.
