OLIVER ROWLAND FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 UK WELCOME CHAMPIONSHIP Brands Hatch , UK 1-2 October Grid 1 » Pole R1 » Win

Grid 2 »Pole R2 » Win www.oliverrowlandracing.com www.oliverrowlandracing.com

CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION: 3rd Oliver utterly dominated proceedings in perfect weather

conditions on the very demanding Brands Hatch Grand Prix 4A Circuit, with two confi dent pole positions and two lights-to- fl ag victories. With his confi dence sky high after an excellent win in the previous round at Rockingham, even Fortec team mate and championship leader had to give best to Oliver who also secured fastest lap in both races and a new lap record to complete his superb weekend’s work. The hot weather certainly did not phase our SuperStars at Brands Hatch with every one of them on the podium during the weekend. Biggest plaudits must go to Oliver Rowland who, on the anniversary of his father’s passing, dominated Formula Renault UK with two emotional wins. Championship leader Alex Lynn managed a second place behind Oliver before an uncharacteristic mistake cost him a chance of victory in race two. Nick Tandy 3A made a dominant return to UK National racing and simply blew away the competition in Porsche Carrera Cup. But for a puncture Nick would have had two wins, two pole positions and two fastest laps! Alex MacDowall managed a podium in the fi rst BTCC race to back up team leader Jason Plato, before two mechanical problems forced his retirement in the subsequent races. The previous weekend saw Jack Harvey contesting the British F3 meeting at Donington. Jack also managed a podium in the fi rst race before the weather and a technical problem prevented a repeat in races two and three.

NICK TANDY PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB Brands Hatch , UK 1-2 October

Grid » Pole Race » Win

Grid » Pole Race » DNF

CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION: 1 st After his continued success in Europe, Nick was draftedd into the Motorbase Porsche Carrera Cup GB squad and hee certainly made the desired impact at Brands Hatch! Fastest 4A in practice and then comfortably on pole for both races, Nick stormed to an untroubled victory in race 1 and was even able to back off a little towards the end to conserve his tyres in the unseasonably high temperatures. Race 2 was looking even more of a Tandy demonstration after a superb start and electrifying opening few laps, but a rear puncture cruelly robbed Nick of the expected victory and he was forced to retire after only six laps.

Grid 3 » 2 nd R3 » DNF CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION: 8th Jack’s growing stature as an F3 driver was underlined by his qualifying speed at Donington which netted him secondd position on the grid, less than one tenth of a second shy of pole position, and moving him up in the pecking order of the dominant Carlin F3 team of fi ve cars. 2A Race 1 saw Jack unfortunately lose second place early on, but he drove maturely to fi nish a close third behind two Carlin team mates and enjoy his place on the podium. Race 2, with its reverse grid, was much more tricky, and tyre choice played a huge part in a race which took place in diffi cult, damp conditions, Jack having to settle for ninth at the fl ag. The track was fully wet for the fi nal race of the weekend, and Jack was robbed of what looked like another podium fi nish as a battery problem initially slowed him and then ultimately sidelined him just four laps from the fi nish.

ALEX LYNN FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 UK CHAMPIONSHIP Brands Hatch , UK 1-2 October Grid 1 » 2 nd R1 » 2 nd

Grid 2 »2 nd R2 » 9 th www.alexlynnracing.com www.alexlynnracing.com

CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION: 1st Although Alex’s grip on the 2011 Formula Renault

Championship is as strong as ever, the slight chinks in hisi 4A armour which appeared at Rockingham were also apparent at Brands Hatch. Unable to match his fellow BRDC SuperStar and Fortec team mate Oliver Rowland in qualifying, Alex was forced to play second fi ddle in race 1, and then unfortunately jumped the start in race 2 which resulted in a drive through penalty and an unaccustomed ninth-place fi nish.

ALEX MACDOWALL 3A DUNLOP MSA BRITISH TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP Brands Hatch , UK 1-2 October Grid 1 » 4 th R1 » 3 rd

Grid 2 »3 rd R2 » DNF

th www.alexmacdowallracing.co.uk www.alexmacdowallracing.co.uk Grid 3 » 29 R3 » DNF CHAMPIONSHIP POSITION: 10th With the Chevrolets back on the pace at Brands, and team mate Jason Plato on pole position, Alex had high hopes and was reasonably satisfi ed with his fourth place qualifying effort for race 1. A good start and excellent fi rst lap saw him up to second position and he duly followed in Jason’s wheel tracks until late in the race when his tyres seemed 2A to wilt in the heat and he was overtaken by a hard charging Mat Jackson. Race 2 was also going well with Alex fi ercely contesting third position, but a spectacular engine blow up curtailed his race, and the RML team set about a rapid engine change. Alex just about made it on to the back of the grid for race 3, but was forced into retirement again with further engine woes, probably a legacy of the hasty work required between races.
