GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF DENMARK AND GREENLAND MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY G E U S The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (Danmarks og Gronlands Geologiske Undersogelse - GEUS) is a researchand advisory institution in the Danish Ministry of Environment and Energy. GEUS was established in 1995 as a merger between the former Geological Survey of Denmark (Danmarks Geologiske Undersogelse - DGU, established in 1888) and the former Geological Survey of Greenland (Gronlands Geologiske Undersogelse - GGU, established in 1946). The Survey's primary function is to provide the essential geological service for the utilisation and protection of Denmark's, Greenland's and the Faeroe Island's natural resources. This involves mapping, data collection and basic research, in addition to providing impartial advice and presenting geological results to both the general public and the scientific community. The Survey has both a research and an advisory role with respect to environmental protection, water supply, raw materials, exploration for and exploitation of oil, natural gas and geothermal energy, nature conservation, environmental history and climate. In addition, the Survey takes part in research programmes supported by national and international funds and undertakes contract assignments for private firms, concerning environment, raw materials and energy. The following scientific publication series are issued by GEUS. This means that GEUS is the national databank for all types of data from the Danish subsurface. Released data are available for sale. Data catalogues giving information about available data are published by GEUS and are sent free of charge to interested companies if re quested. Available well data are published in our ‘Well Data Summary Sheets, volume 17 to 33 ’. Announcements regarding all released and newly released well data are accessible from the GEUS homepage: http: / / www.geus.dk/ or the homepage of the Geological Information and Data Centre: http://www.geus.dk/departments/geol-info-data-centre/geoldata.htm/ The geophysical catalogue ‘Review on geophysical data from the Danish sector (Volume 1 and 2). Danmarks og Granlands Geologiske Undersegelse Rapport 1997/12’ includes information about all seismic surveys acquired in the Danish sector. The text part of the geophysical catalogue is also published on the GEUS homepage. Released seismic data is available from GEUS. Data reprocessed on non-exclusive terms are in general not avail able from GEUS. Data are in general kept confidential for five years - well data from the completion date and geophysical data from the processing date. Completion and processing dates are listed in the catalogues. GEUS August 15, 1998 GEUS 3 Well data • Well data are sold as ‘Well packages’ for each well separately. Each package includes - Digital well log data in original LIS/DLIS format on 8 mm (Exabyte) tapes - All available well log data as full scale sepia copies - All available reports as full scale copies Well package price (see pages 8-13) Special offer: • Composite logs from all released exploration and appraisal wells from the Danish North Sea (113 wells) as paper copies. Price: DKK 88,000 • Completion reports (including mud logs and completion logs as paper copies) from all released exploration and appraisal wells from the Danish North Sea (113 wells). Price: DKK 335,000 Please note: If the 'Composite log package' or the ‘Completion report package’ is pur chased, GEUS offers 8% and 20% price reductions respectively on the individual well packages. • GEUS lithostratigraphic database in digital format - Including depth and two way time to the top of formations in released Danish exploration and appraisal wells. Price: DKK 25,000, price for subsequent annual renewal: DKK 3,500. If own or traded confi dential wells are requested, GEUS will charge the list price plus additional handling cost. (Latest update June 1997) Products only available for purchasers of the individual well packages: • Spliced well log data in standard ASCII on 8 mm (Exabyte) tapes prepared for work stations. Price: DKK 3,500 per well • Core photographs on CD ROM. Not all cores are available. Price: DKK 3,000 - 7,000 per well. GEUS 4 Seismic and related data Seismic data are available as SEG-Y copies on 8 mm (Exabyte) tapes and as sepia- and paper copies. Some seismic surveys are available as Landmark backup tapes. 2D seismic surveys: • The price for complete 2D surveys as SEG-Y copies is DKK 55 per kilometre. If the sur vey also is requested as Landmark backup tapes, the price is DKK 80 per kilometre. • Navigation data in UKOOA format are free of charge if complete surveys or more than 500 kilometresof a survey are purchased. Otherwise the price is DKK 3,000 per survey. • The price for individual lines as SEG-Y copies is DKK 55 per kilometre plus additional handling costs. • If sepia-Zpaper copies are requested in addition to the digital data, GEUS will charge additional copying costs. • If only sepia-Zpaper copies are requested, GEUS will charge DKK 55 per kilometre plus the copying costs. 3D Seismic surveys: • The price for complete 3D surveys as SEG-Y copies on 8 mm (Exabyte) tapes is DKK 1,000 per square kilometre. • 3D surveys smaller than 300 squarekilometres are available as complete surveys only. • For 3D surveys over 300 square kilometres, part-surveys can be purchased; the part- survey must be at least 50% of the full survey and include only complete seismic lines. Pre-stack data are generally available. Please note: Further and more detailed information concerning seismic data are available in the catalogue: ‘Review on geophysical data from the Danish sector (Volume 1 and 2) ’. Danmarks og Grenlands Geologiske Undersogelse Rapport 1997Z12. GEUS 5 Inspection of cores All types of samples originating from deep wells in Danish territory are stored in the GEUS core storage facility. The core storage has display facilities which can be used for core inspection. Released well reports and well logs are available at the core storage facility. It is not standard policy to permit sampling of core material for analysis. However, if valid projects are proposed, GEUS might decide to provide sample material on standard condi tions. All results have to be reported to GEUS and all remaining sample material has to be returned at the end of the project. • Core inspection should be arranged at least 8 days in advance. Price DKK 2,500 per day GEUS 6 General information on prices and conditions • Prices do not includeVAT • GEUS offers group reductions as indicated below (Please note that the group reduc tions apply if joint orders are received in the first instance i. e. subsequent orders from additional companies will ngt qualify for reductions): - First company in a group pays full price - Second company is given a 30% reduction of the full price - Third and following companies are given a 55% reduction of the full price • Special price reductions: If a special offer ('Compositelog package’ or ‘Completion report package’) is purchased GEUS offers 8% and 20% price reductions respectively on
