1. The Senate met at 10.35 a, m. The Senate President read prayers.

2. Votes and Proceedings: The Senate President announced that he had examined the Votes and Proceedings of Wednesday, 26th May, 2010 and approved same.

By unanimous consent, the Votes and Proceedings were approved

3. Condolence Visit to the President, Commander-in-Chie f: The Senate President read an announcement as follows:

My Bosses and Distinguished Colleagues,

I wish to inform you that members of the Senate delegation on condolence visit to the President, C-in-C, Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will be meeting with Mr. President today.

4. ECOW AS Parliament: The Senate President reminded Senators that the ECOW AS Parliament is in session, and members should endeavour to attend sittings.

5. Acknowledgement: The Senate President acknowledged the presence of Staff and Students of Jephthah Comprehensive Secondary School, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, who were in the gallery to observe Senate Proceedings:

6. Personal Explanation: Rising on Rules 43, Senator Ahmad I. Lawan drew the attention of the Senate that today, 27"' May, 20 I 0 marks the International Children's Day. He remarked that children are resources to the nation which should be enhanced for the development of the Country. He further asked for the protection of children since they are the future leaders of the Country. He wished Nigerian children happy celebration. No. 98 Thursday, 27th May, 2010 885

7. Annual Report of the Auditor-General for the Federation on Government Parastatals: Motion made: That the Senate do receive the Report of the Auditor-General for the Federation on the Accounts of the following Federal Government Parastatals:

(i) Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) Audited Accounts for the Years Ended 31" December, 2005 - 2007;

(ii) Federal Capital Territory Water Board Audited Accounts for the Years Ended 31" December, 2003 - 2006;

(iii) Federal College of Education, Umunze, Audited Accounts for the Year Ended 31" December, 2007;

(iv) Nigerian Export Promotion Council Audited Accounts for the Year Ended 31" December, 2004;

(v) Central Bank of Nigeria Audited Accounts for the Year Ended 31" December, 2005;

(vi) Bureau of Public Enterprise Audited Accounts for the Year Ended 31" December, 2006;

(vii) Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board Audited Accounts for the Years Ended 31" December, 2001 - 2003;
