Our clubs met for the first time in League action last season. We managed to win both games but it took a last ditch winner from Tom Stone to secure the 3 points in our April encounter at Fairfax Park. Cadbury Heath put up a spirited display that day, which belied their then lowly league position and probably deserved at least a point from the match. Sacha Tong, who proved to be a real handful for our defence on the day, scored both of Cadbury Heath’s goals. Sacha had a brief spell with us a couple of seasons ago but failed to make the score sheet, which is rather surprising when one considers his goal scoring record at Bitton FC, Yate Town and now Cadbury Heath.

Left: Sacha Tong receiving a Man of the Match award. Also in the photograph on the far left is Andy Black, who has filled the role of Manager and Director of Football for the Bristol based club. He also played for Bridgwater Town. In Andy’s case it was back in the 1982-83 season when the old club were members of the Southern League. He also played for Weston-s- Mare, Bath City and Trowbridge Town. As a manager, he has previously held the helm at Mangotsfield Utd, Frome Town and Bitton. ParadeDental Practice

However, Saturday was very much at the other end of the scale; nothing clicked and we were beaten by the better team on the day.
