Audiovisual Equipment - Non Tenders Section Type Description Date Published Business News L.G. Electronics Factory in 6th October City, involving $ 270 million investments, is now operating at 20 % of capacity for lack of components & spare parts. That was Jan 20, 2015 reported in the media quoting Mr. Ashraf Hamdi, Chairman of the company, indicating that the issue is attributed to delays of banks in opening relevant letters of credits. The factory entered the experimental phase in October 2014 last. Earlier media reports predicted the annual output would reach 1.5 million T.V. sets, 70 % of which for export & 500,000 washing machines, 80 % of which for export. Reports noted that export markets include the Middle East, North Africa & Southern Europe. Projects Awards $ 50 million contract was signed for the revamping and operation of the Sound & Light Project at the Pyramids zone with revamping works scheduled for completion in Jan 20, 2015 14 months. That was reported in the media quoting Mr. Ashraf Salman, Minister of Investments, indicating that the program will be annually seen by about 10 million tourists & citizens generating about $ 200 million revenues apart from $ 7 million annual receipts to the pubic treasury.
