Sacred Heart – Immaculate Heart”
FATHER MARK SCHULTE HOMILY Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) June 13, 2021 “Sacred Heart – Immaculate Heart” In recent days, the Church has celebrated two very important Feast days, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We know that the heart is the seat of love. When you give someone your heart you give them your love, you give them the most intimate and sacred part of you. For Jesus, his greatest act of love was His passion and death for us. As He hung on the cross, the soldier’s lance pierced His side and into His heart and out flowed blood and water. The water to cleanse us of sin in baptism and His blood to nourish us sacramentally. For these and other reasons, the church and the faithful venerate the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is the very heart of God (CCC 478, 694, 1225) (Jn 19:34). Closely associated with the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the Immaculate Heart of His Mother Mary. The flesh of the heart of Jesus comes from her flesh. The suffering of Mary is intimately related to the suffering of Jesus. The prophecy of Simeon is fulfilled in her suffering. He said: “A sword will pierce your heart”. Her sword of suffering is her sorrow, in witnessing the suffering of her son Jesus. She contemplated from early on that the life of her son would consist in suffering for His people (Lk 2:22-39, 51). Mary united her intense suffering with the suffering of her Son Jesus. -

In Fatima on the 8Th Day of the Novena
The Message of Fatima 100th Anniversary – 2017 1914-Apparition At 7 years old I (Lucia) began tending our flock of sheep. One day as we (Lucia & some friends) saw for the 1st time a figure that had a human shape, whiter than snow and which the sun turned transparent. This apparition recurred twice again without manifesting itself and always suspended in the air, over the wood at the bottom of the “Cabezo.” When questioned by her mother, “As I did not know how to explain clearly and to free myself from questions, I replied that it looked like someone wrapped in a very white sheet.” 1st 1916 Apparition of the Angel After quickly praying the rosary Lucia dos Santos with cousins Francisco & Jacinta Marto started to play a game. “We were feeding our flocks in a property belonging to my parents called “Chousa Velha,” which lies at the bottom of a hill called “Cabezo,” on the east side. It was there that the Angel appeared to us for the 1st time in the form of a youth, as white as snow, shining more brightly then the sun and as transparent as crystal. We began to see this light coming towards us and thus we gradually distinguished the features. We were taken by surprise and being half bewildered we did not say a word. On reaching us he said, “Don’t be afraid. I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me!” And kneeling down, he bowed his forehead to the ground and made us repeat these words three times: My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You.” “Pray thus. -
Consecration and Fatima
CONSECRATION AND FATIMA by Prof. Américo Pablo López-Ortiz International President of the World Apostolate of Fatima The soul and essence of the Message of Fatima is the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This maternal heart revealed its secrets at Fatima, showing the little shepherds the wonders of God’s love and mercy. Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Fatima seers experienced the mystery of God and were immersed in God as in an infinite ocean of love. The light that came out of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was God himself and in this light they could see themselves as in the best of mirrors. Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco contemplated the mystery of the Most Blessed Trinity, receiving a special understanding of God’s nature, and at the same time were able to receive a special understanding of their own nature, of their own conscience. This was necessary to prepare the children for their mission on earth. On June 13, 1929, the Immaculate Heart of Mary appeared to Sister Lucia at Tuy, Spain, as Our Lady had promised her on July 13, 1917, to remind us of the practice of the First Saturday’s devotion and the consecration to her Immaculate Heart as the two providential means offered to the modern world to achieve peace and salvation of numerous sinners. While Sister Lucia adored the Blessed Sacrament at midnight, the Most Holy Trinity appeared to her accompanied by the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Lucia received lights about this mystery that she was not allowed to reveal. Our Lady said: “The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world, to make the consecration ofRussia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.” By the word “consecration” is meant “entrustment”. -
Mary As Disciple of Jesus Four Marian Doctrines Devotion to Mary
Page 1 MARY, THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD A January 1, 2017 abandoned stable, then fleeing with her husband from the murderous threats of Herod, living as an immigrant in a foreign country and, finally, accompanying Jesus through his passion and death. We can only imagine how painful these events are for Mary. During her life, Mary, among other things, has had to cope with the experience of being an unwed mother, a refugee, a widow and single parent, and the mother of an innocent son who will be executed as a criminal. Meditating on the Mary as disciple of Jesus trials and tribulations of Mary should bring her closer to us. Four Marian doctrines When we consider that Mary, from among all women, is the one chosen to be the Mother of Jesus, and when we Devotion to Mary consider the completeness of her ‘Yes’ to God, we should have no problem honoring her. On our parish website, I have 28 articles on the Cate- chism of the Catholic Church. On this feast of Mary, the Mother of God, I share with you my article on Mary. In the Pause: What strikes you most about the trials and suffer- article, the letter “C” refers to the Universal Catechism of ings of Mary? the Catholic Church and the numbers refer to paragraphs. The letters “USC” refer to the United States Catechism (a much easier read than the Universal Catechism). “Woman of Faith” and “Model Disciple” In this article, we will look at: Over the centuries, many titles have been given to de- scribe Mary’s role in Christianity. -

The Enthronement and Consecration the Enthronement Includes Necessarily Our Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
1 Introduction The following introduction to the practice of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home is compiled from excerpts of Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke’s book on the devotion, The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: The Center of Devotion to the Sacred Heart The center of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the Enthronement of an image of the Sacred Heart in the home. The Enthroned image of the Sacred Heart, which may be a picture or a statue, expresses Christ’s true Kingship, daily reminding each member of the family to follow in His royal way by making reparation for sins committed and by striving to serve God and neighbor more lovingly. By the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart, we link the tabernacle of our parish church to our home, inviting Our Lord to be our constant and most intimate Companion. The Enthronement is a way of life. It means that Christ is King of our hearts, and that we desire Him to be present with us always. By the Enthronement, we signify our desire to make our hearts and our homes holy, to sanctify our lives in every aspect. The Enthronement and the Transformation of Society The practice of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home was begun by Father Mateo Crawley-Boevey, SS.CC (1875-1961), the great Apostle of the Enthronement… Father Crawley-Boevey insisted on the official and social recognition of the rule of the Sacred Heart of Jesus over the Christian Family. -
Appendices 1 – 12
APPENDICES 1 – 12 Religion Course of Study PreK-12 --- Diocese of Toledo --- 2018 Appendix 1: God’s Plan of Salvation -- A Summary (Used with permission, Diocese of Green Bay, WI) It is very important that before we dive into the religion Course of Study each year, we set the stage with an overview of God’s plan of salvation – the adventurous story of God’s unfailing love for us, his persistence in drawing us back to himself, and the characters along the way who succeed and fail in their quest for holiness. The context of the Story of Salvation will provide the proper foundation for the rest of your catechetical instruction. The Story can be taught as a one-day lesson, or a week long lesson. Each teacher must make a determination of how long they will take to present the Story to their students. It is important that the story be presented so that each of us can understand our place and purpose in the larger plan of God, as well as how the Church is central to God’s plan of salvation for the world. An overview of God’s plan is to be presented at the beginning of each year, and should be revisited periodically during the year as the subject matter or liturgical season warrants. Please make the presentation appropriate to the grade level. 1. God is a communion of Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three Persons in one God is the Blessed Trinity. God has no beginning and no end.
