BRUIN SOCCER TEAM HEADS EAST FOR PENN STATE NIKE CLASSIC UCLA, Penn State to face off live on Fox Soccer Channel.

THIS WEEK — The No. 5 (Soccer America)/17 (NSCAA) ranked UCLA men's soccer team (2-1-0) will 2005 UCLA SCHEDULE/RESULTS head east to play Penn State (0-3-1) and Ohio State (3-1-0) in the Penn State Nike Classic. The Bruins Date Opponent Time/Result will tangle with host Penn State on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 pm ET. The game will be broadcast live on 8/19 vs. #1/1 Indiana (ex.) T 1-1 Fox Soccer Channel as the kickoff to the Fox Soccer Channel College Game of the Week. On Sunday, 9/2 vs. #21/13 Santa Clara* L 2-3 Sept. 18, the Bruins will face Ohio State at 12 pm ET. 9/4 #2/4 MARYLAND W 4-0 BRUINS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS — UCLA moved up two spots to No. 5 in the Soccer America 9/11 at Loyola Marymount W 4-0 rankings but dropped two to No. 17 in the NSCAA/adidas poll after defeating Loyola Marymount 4-0 9/16 at Penn State† 8 pm last weekend. The Bruins remain No. 4 in the Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News polls. 9/18 vs. Ohio State† 12 pm 9/26 UNLV 1 pm IANNI, WYNNE UP FOR M.A.C. HERMANN TROPHY — Junior midfi elder/defender Patrick Ianni 9/30 7 pm and sophomore defender Marvell Wynne have been named to the 2005 M.A.C. Hermann Trophy 10/2 STANFORD 1 pm Watch List. The Bruin duo were starters on the U.S. Under-20 National Team that advanced to the 10/7 at Washington 7 pm Round of 16 at the 2005 World Youth Championships. Their defense helped the U.S. shut out all 10/9 at Oregon State 1 pm three of its opponents in group play. Wynne also had an assist on the game-winning goal against Argentina. Both players were regular starters for UCLA in 2004 and played in all 20 games. Ianni was 10/14 at Cal State Northridge 3:30 pm the 2004 Pac-10 Co-Player of the Year. Wynne had two assists in 2004 and has equaled that total in 10/16 SAN DIEGO STATE 1 pm just one weekend, recording an assist in the Santa Clara and Maryland games.
