De facto, o envelhecimento ativo e a aprendizagem ao longo da vida têm sido temas centrais da Declaração Política de Ação Internacional para o Envelhecimento de Madrid e da Organização Mundial de Saúde. Apesar de, recentemente, se ter verificado um interesse crescente na utilização de estratégias que visem responder aos desafios de uma sociedade envelhecida, grande parte dos estudos parece não considerar os jogos como estratégia de aprendizagem para motivar hábitos saudáveis, segurança e participação na sociedade. AN INVESTIGATION INTO FEMALE MARTIAL PRACTICES FROM THE 14th to the 20th CENTURY DANIEL JAQUET DOI ABSTRACT 10.18573/mas.133 Women appear in fight books as practitioners in the late Middle Ages. They then disappear completely, only to reappear at the dawn of the twentieth century. How are they represented therein? What discourses of gender and violence are present within the corpus of European fight books? In this article, the KEYWORDs representation of women in the fight books of the late Middle Ages is analysed, with a focus on female martial practices in legal Women, fight books, Europe, procedures. The absence of women (their ‘invisibilisation’) from interpersonal violence, representation, fight books in the modern period is compensated by exploring invisibilisation, transgender other types of sources relating to female martial arts, including transgender fighters. The final part highlights different martial practices at the dawn of the twentieth century and the CITATION reintroduction of women onto the pages of fight books.
