Tech Guide for CWWG National Meeting

GETTING STARTED Start by familiarizing yourself with the Hopin event platform by watching this brief Hopin Attendee How-To Video.

If you need tech support before or during the meeting, email [email protected]. You can also send a direct message to Tech Support while in Hopin by clicking “people” in the navigation bar, searching for “tech support," and typing your question.

Additionally, here’s a helpful Attendee Troubleshooting Guide.

OPTIMIZING YOUR VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE IMPORTANT: The latest versions of Chrome or Firefox guarantee the best experience. Avoid Brave, Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge since these browsers lack the modern web technologies support necessary for online events to run in a web browser.

Mobile browsers: Safari on iOS and Google Chrome on Android.

Note: Sometimes, third-party extensions can affect the experience blocking some of the Hopin interface elements. That’s why we also recommend opening the event in Incognito mode (command+Shift+N on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) on Chrome or Private tab (command+Shift+P for macOS or Ctrl+Shift+P for Windows) on Firefox.

Pro tip: If you're experiencing audio or visual issues, try refreshing your web page and/or restarting your computer. It's also helpful to close other open tabs and windows.

FAQ’s How do I make a Hopin profile? When you first create a Hopin account, you'll be prompted to fill out your profile information. If you'd like to update your profile at any point, you can return to https://hopin.to and click "My Account." Then go to "Profile" on the left-hand menu.

When I try to join the meeting, it says to sign-in, and when I try to sign-in it tells me my email is already taken. Make sure you log-in to Hopin using the same email that you used when you registered for the event. (Speakers only - if you received a magic link, please use that link to access the event)

How do I direct message people? Anyone can send messages to an individual at a Hopin event through the People tab. To send a DM, find the person you wish to chat with in the People tab, click their profile photo, and you’ll see a box to “start typing” at the bottom of the tab to send a direct message to them.

How do I navigate to the main stage? Use the left navigation bar to click on “stages” and then select “main stage.” This is where you’ll find all main stage panels and fireside chats.

We hope you’ll enjoy music motivation by DJ Empress Rah during the registration session on Day 1 and scheduled breaks. Just click on “stages” and select “DJ stage.”

How do I get to my session room? (note: we will not be doing separate “break-out sessions” but some events will be in a session room so that we can accommodate more speakers) Use the left navigation bar to click on “sessions” and then select the appropriate session room.

HOW DO I NETWORK? Hopin allow two interactive ways to connect with other event attendees: one-on-one “speed” networking and pre-scheduled meetings:

• The Networking area on Hopin is the place for automated one-on-one meetings and is Hopin’s way of facilitating connection discovery at an event. Similar to an experience that feels like FaceTime or Hangouts, Hopin pairs two people over a direct video call. In this feature, you will virtually bump into other attendees and have up to two minutes to introduce yourselves. Learn more about this fun and interactive feature here: Networking Tutorial.

• The Schedule Meeting feature allows attendees to schedule a private meet-up of up to five attendees. This is an opportunity to get together with one or a small group of CWWG peers to share insights, brainstorm strategies, or reflect on one of the panel discussions. Learn more about this feature here: Meeting Tutorial

HOW DO I ACCESS THE FULL MEETING AGENDA? You can find the full meeting agenda along with speaker bios and other helpful tools on the event webpage.

Which browsers work best? The latest versions of Chrome or Firefox guarantee the best experience. We recommend avoiding Brave, Safari, and Microsoft IE or Edge since these browsers lack the technologies necessary for online events. The common issues Hopin receives from its users are related to an outdated web browser and . For this reason, Hopin recommends only the latest version of Chrome and Firefox.
