Summary: WP2 – It is suggested to write IPv6 requirement document for researching how to support IPv6 in grid environment. WP3 – To promote the inter-operation and interoperability between gLite and CNGrid is discussed in the meeting. gLite and CNGrid are quite different. The experts suggest to create a gateway between EGEE and CNGrid infrastructures, and develop some code or tools to send job each other and authenticate the proxy certificate each other between EGEE gLite and CNGrid GOS. WP4 – There 3 main applications: HEP, ARGO-YBJ astrophysics experiment, Biology experiment WP5 – Trainning and dissemination. The first grid tutorial of the project is gave in 3-7 Apr. The second tutorial is gave in 15-16 June in Beijing.

In detail:

1st day: open session

Hesheng CHEN, the director of IHEP, gave a talk to introduce IHEP. Fabrizio Garliardi gave a keynote speech. Federico Ruggieri gave a talk about the projects status. Claudio Grandi gave a talk about EGEE grid infrastructure. Kai NAN gave a talk about e-Science and grid in CAS. C. HU introduced NSFC Grid in . Depei Qian introduced CNGrid. Hai JIN introduced Chinagrid.

The second session: Grid applications, e.g. Biomedical, ARGO-YBJ astrophysics, Bioinformatics and health grid were introduced.

The project status: Kick-off meeting in Jan. 2006 in Athens First tutorial for users and site managers in Beijing on 3-7 Apr. 2006, more than 40 people attended. Prilimilary pilot infrastructure: 6 sites,BEIJING-LCG2,BEIJING-CNIC-LCG2-IA64, GR-DI-AUTH,INFN_CATALIA,INFN-CNAF,INFN-ROMA3 First applications requirements analysis started A study will be down on middleware and high level service compatibility on IPv6, operational test of functionalities. Network connectivity between Europe and china is not presently satisfactory: long lops. New TEIN2 links at 622 Mpbs.ORIENT will links to 2.5Gpbs between GEANT and CSTNET and CERNET. The second tutorial for users gave on 15-16 June 2006 in Beijing. And Chinese traners were the core of the tutorial, more than 40 people attended it.

2nd day Grid middleware interoperability and Grid/IPv6 compatibility

Claudio Grandi introduced EGEE gLite middleware. Yongjian Wang introduced CNGrid. Enrico Fattibene introduced inter-operation with EGEE infrastructure.

EGEE middleware gLite3.0. CNGrid middleware GOS2.0. 8 sites in China: IAPCM,THU, center of CNIC of CAS, XJTU, NUDT, USTC, SSC, HKU. Supported application: Bioinformatics, Manufacture and simulation, Geosurvey, weather forecast,etc.

They have started to compare the security mechanism. It is quite different between EGEE middleware gLite and CNGrid middleware GOS. It is a big challenge on inter- operation and interoperability between gLite and GOS. To promote the inter-operation and interoperability between gLite and GOS is discussed in the meeting. Jean-Paul Gautier gave a talk about gLite middleware on IPv6 Rui Wang gave a talk about GOS and CNGrid on IPv6. Valentino R.Carcione gave a talk about First tests of gLite/IPv6 compatibility Salvatore Monforte gave a talk about gLite WMS and IPv6.

Two IPv6 version GOS are running on CERNET2: NIC of BUAA, NIC of XJTU It is suggested to write IPv6 user guide and requirement document for researching how to support IPv6 in grid environment. Every WP status were introduced.

WP2: OREINT will upgrade to 2.5Gbps. TEIN2 links at 622Mbps. Network connectivity between Europe and china is not presently satisfactory: long lops. IPv6 guide and requirement document are asked to write.

WP3: Enabling EUCHINAGRID VO in Auth Thessaloniki cluster. RB+BDII+UI,VOMS,LFC, GridICE have been created at CNAF.WNs mornitoring: IHEP: ok, CNIC is working. WP3 web site is under construction. changed applicability of our CA from only in HEP to all that are in GRID IHEP involved Study the structure and functionalities of CNGrid GOV v2 and study the security mechanism of CNGrid GOS v2 at BUAA.

WP4: Biological application: application to grid system – done, source code – done, test successfully

The first project conference will be held in Roma in Sep, and 3rd tutorial will be held before/after the conference. .
