Jamie Schutz Executive VP, Production and Development at Stick Figure Productions & President of Branded Entertainment at ORA Media

Jamie Schutz is the Executive VP of Production and Development at Stick Figure Productions and President of Branded Entertainment at Ora Media, the digital network formed in 2012 by Carlos Slim and Larry King.

Jamie is currently producing a new talk show series for MSG Networks and directing a 30 for 30 documentary for ESPN. He is also producing two additional 30 for 30 documentaries for ESPN and directing a series for ESPN as well. Jamie is also producing a new documentary series for HBO and a feature documentary for BBC.

The former Ogilvy Entertainment Head of Production recently completed directing a documentary for the Andy Warhol Museum on the life and art of Andy Warhol. Prior to this, Jamie directed a cooking series for Hellmann’s, a makeover series for IKEA, three documentaries for Philips, two documentaries and two commercial spots for Lenovo, a cooking series with Mario Batali and a commercial spot for Expedia. He also served as the Executive Producer on a series of award-winning documentaries that air during the BBC program entitled “Horizons” and an IBM series for Huffington Post.

Prior to working for Ogilvy Entertainment, Jamie served as Executive in Charge for Chaos Squared Productions and oversaw the sale of the company’s first feature film to Lionsgate and Anchor Bay Entertainment. He also served as Director of Business Development at CPX Interactive where he strategized and managed the build out of O&O’s while overseeing product development for the global media company.

Television credits include Executive Producer on “Jason of Beverly Hills” for E!, “The Ugly Agency,” “Miami Ink,” and “Shalom in the Home” for TLC. Other television producing credits are “Lost in the USA” for The WB, “Nanny 911” for Fox and “The Miller Show” for Oxygen.

In 2003, Jamie co-created and produced the first reality feature film, “The Real Cancun,” which was distributed worldwide by . He was also hired to develop two television series for New Line Television and CBS that same year. In 2000, Jamie spent four months in Borneo producing the first season of the groundbreaking reality series “Survivor” for CBS. He followed that up with four months in the Australian Outback for “Survivor 2” and another trip to Malaysia to produce “Eco-Challenge: Borneo” for USA Network before leeches finally got the better of him and he returned stateside.

In 1999, Jamie wrote and directed a dozen spots for Comcast and earned a Telly Award for Outstanding Commercial Direction. He was also one of the first to direct live web casts in 1998 and oversaw a ten episode talk show series with Alan Colmes. Jamie began his career in in 1995 as an Assistant Director where he ran sets and second unit directed for people like Vin Diesel and Kevin Smith. All in all, Jamie worked on a dozen feature films before he shifted his focus to producing and assistant directing commercials and music videos. During the commercial and music video years, Jamie had an opportunity to work with Whitney Houston, , Pink, Sheryl Crow, , Dwight Yoakam, Tim Story, , Kevin Bray, , and Chris Robinson to name a few.

Jamie graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and earned a duel degree in English Literature and Film and Television Studies in 1995. Prior to that, he interned for Gale Anne Hurd at Paramount Studios and Michael Levine at Levine/Schneider.

Jamie currently serves on the Advisory Board and is Co-chair of the Events Committee and the Seminar’s Committee for The Producer’s Guild of America. He is also a mentor and frequent guest lecturer at various universities and post- graduate programs as well.
