Horstmann, K. 2013. Revisions of Nearctic Tersilochinae V. Genera Allophroides Horstmann and Gelanes Horstmann (partim) (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae). Spixiana 36 (2): 227-261. The Nearctic of Allophroides Horstmann and of Gelanes Horstmann were undescribed until now. In this paper, all known species of Allophroides (six species) and thirteen species of Gelanes are included in keys and described as new: Allophro- ides flavilabris, A. granulatus, A. laevipleuris, A. obscurus, A. salicicola, A. tenuicauda, Gelanes brevicornis, G. clavicornis, G. flavopictus, G. frontalis, G. incisus, G. intermedius, G. montanus, G. nigrinus, G. pleroneurae, G. punctipleuris, G. punctulatus, G. rarus and G. striatus. Information on hosts and on some aspects of the life history is given for Gelanes brevicornis, G. flavopictus, G. pleroneurae and G. punctipleuris.

Introduction Gelanes: Temple with fine or distinct punctation on a smooth or finely granulate background. Tarsal The two genera treated in this paper are closely claws evenly bent and evenly attenuated, without related, and Townes (1971: 36 f.) had included both subbasal teeth (Fig. 67). In both genera the petiole of the 1st very fine sculpture, at most granulate anteriorly gastral segment is relatively short and the postpetiole (Figs 70, 111). is long, the glymmae thus being situated slightly in Other characters mentioned by Horstmann (1981: front of, and the spiracles being situated slightly 11) are variable within the Nearctic species of these behind, the middle of the segment (Townes 1971: 34, genera. An additional distinguishing character might Horstmann 1981: 7). The other characters mentioned be the host range.
