April 24, 2015 Little Big Shots International Film Festival for Kids

South ’s Come Out Children’s Festival is not far away and this year the Adelaide Festival Centre and Country Arts SA are proud to present the inspiring, meaningful and fun-filled festival, Little Big Shots in Roxby Downs and Renmark!

Little Big Shots is an international film festival for kids featuring the best in local and overseas children’s shorts, animations, documentaries, live action and even child-produced films. Little Big Shots films inspire discussion of world cultures, different languages, cultural diversity, emotional intelligence and human values. Better yet, they make kids laugh, whoop, think and create.

Since its inception in 2004, Little Big Shots has become its own not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the media literacy of young people, fostering children’s creativity and showcasing the very best in filmmaking for, by and about kids. The Sydney Morning Herald said;

“Little Big Shots has become one of the most important children's film festivals in the world.”

The festival now stands as Australia’s only major stand-alone kids’ film festival - a niche Australian event. With its focus on short films for kids plus plenty of competitions and opportunities for involvement, Little Big Shots will provide fun for both the young and the young at heart.

The biennial Come Out Children’s Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the world. Since 1974 it has allowed over 2 million South Australian children to participate in our State’s premier arts event for engaging children and families in high quality, professional arts experiences.

Rob Stobbe, CEO of Country Arts SA’s principal corporate partner, SA Power Networks, said: “The young audience in Roxby Downs and Renmark will love the films showing in a festival tailor-made just for them. There are shows for different ages and topics that will test minds, increase media literacy and ensure lots of fun!”

So have a look at which package would suit your little ones and come along to one of the year’s most exciting experiences for kids!
