VARIOUS STREETS, CHAPELHALL, AIRDRIE

PROPOSED 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER

The Council propose to consider the introduction of a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a 30 miles per hour speed limit on the undernoted roads in the Chapelhall area of Airdrie, as detailed below:-

B799 Bo’ness Road, Woodhall Street and Lauchope Street

The length of the B799 Bo’ness Road, Woodhall Street and Lauchope Street from a point 49 metres or thereby south west of the extended line of the south western kerb of Lancaster Avenue, north eastwards to its junction with A73 Main Street, a distance of 1,135 metres or thereby.

Lancaster Avenue, Chapelhall

The length of Lancaster Avenue from its junction with the B7099 Bo’ness Road south eastwards, eastwards and north eastwards to a point 58 metres or thereby south west of its junction with the A73 Bellside Road, a distance of 1,406 metres or thereby.

As part of the proposed Order, the Strathclyde Regional Council (Restricted Roads) (Transitional) Order 1985 is to be amended, as detailed in Schedule 2 of this Order.

(30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2012

The North Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

1. This Order may be cited as “The North Lanarkshire Council (Various Streets, Chapelhall, Airdrie) (30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2012” and shall come into operation on Monday, the thirtieth day of July, Two thousand and twelve.

2. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding thirty miles per hour on the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 of this Order.

3. The Strathclyde Regional Council (Restricted Roads) (Transitional) Order 1985 is to be amended as detailed in Schedule 2 of this Order.

30 MPH SPEED LIMIT

Woodhall Street and B799 Bo’ness Road, Chapelhall

The lengths of Woodhall Street and B799 Bo’ness Road from the extended line of the southern kerb of Woodneuk Street, south westwards to a point 49 metres or thereby south west of the extended line of the southern kerb of Lancaster Avenue.

Lancaster Avenue, Chapelhall

The length of Lancaster Avenue from its junction with B7099 Bo’ness Road south eastwards, eastwards and north eastwards to a point 58 metres or thereby south west of its junction with A73 Bellside Road, a distance of 1,406 metres or thereby.
