SAM SECURES CONTRACT TO MANUFACTURE NACELLE MAJOR MACHINED PARTS FOR GOODRICH AEROSTRUCTURES

Singapore Manufacturing (SAM) has been awarded a long-term contract by Goodrich to produce nacelle major machined parts for the , Airbus 350 XWB, Bombardier CSeries and Mitsubishi Regional Jet.

The major machined parts will be manufactured at SAM’s new 150,000 square foot facility located at the Penang Science Park, Malaysia. SAM is investing US $60 million (RM200 million) in this new facility, which includes the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment from the and Germany.

The contract with Goodrich’s Aerostructures business will further strengthen SAM’s position as a leading manufacturer of critical aerospace products to global aerospace original equipment manufacturers.

We consider this an important milestone for SAM as the contract enables us to expand our range of services and capabilities,” said Jeffrey Goh, CEO of SAM. “Our experience and expertise in high-precision machining and proven track record with Goodrich helped SAM to secure the contract.”

Goodrich Aerostructures Vice President of Supply Chain Tim Martin said that SAM was chosen for its ability to meet Goodrich’s exacting standards for quality and delivery.
