We could not be more excited to welcome you to our inaugural Golf for Joy Pro-Am at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. With just two weeks until the event, I am eager to see everyone out on the course and am extremely appreciative of your support for the Children’s Cancer Association

My family has been fortunate enough to stay healthy, but I have a special place in my heart for children who face serious illnesses. I’ve been a volunteer at CCA for many years and this event has evolved as we’ve been able to connect with more friends that share my passion for golf and bringing joy to children when they need it most.

A couple of years ago I read a book called “Final Rounds” by James Dodson. There was a quote in the book that rang true – not only for this event, but for all that we are able to do in helping CCA – “Life is full of sorrow, but it’s up to us to provide the joy.” My hope is that while you pack up your clubs and prepare for a wonderful few days of golf, you’ll remember the power we have to transform moments for these kids and their families. We have enclosed a copy of this book as a special gift of appreciation and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

CCA and Gay Davis are excited to welcome you to Pumpkin Ridge for three great days of golf, time with several CCA served families, a silent and oral auction, delicious dinner, and special speakers.

Day One: Monday, June 27 Registration open from 12pm to 3pm Afternoon practice round at Ghost Creek after 12:30pm

Day Two: Tuesday, June 28 Registration opens at 9:00 am First round of play at Ghost Creek | Shotgun start time at 12:30pm *CCA Family Event at Ghost Creek 6pm - 7pm Silent auction starts at 6pm *Dinner and Auction at Ghost Creek will start promptly at 7pm Dinner program to feature Casey Martin, Shauna Parsons from KPTV and Gay Davis

Day Three: Wednesday, June 29 Final Round at Witch Hollow | Shotgun start at 8am Lunch and Awards Celebration following play Gay Davis’ Golf Marathon

PRACTICE ROUNDS Amateur practice rounds are reserved at Ghost Creek after 12:30pm on Monday, June 27. If you do not plan to play a practice round, please contact Jenny O’Bryan at [email protected] by June 22.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT The Pro-Am team event will be a one Gross and one Net format of the fivesome. The professionals score can be used as the gross score. The professionals will be playing for an individual purse but there will be no individual event for the Amateurs. The goal is for everyone to have fun and remember that the true winners are the children.

HOTEL If you need accommodations, we have a reserved group rate of $119 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hillsboro, located approximately 10 miles from Pumpkin Ridge.
