Three Rivers Soccer Club Informational Try-out Sheet

Hi Coaches/Players/Parents,

Three Rivers SC Try-outs are just around the corner so I figured we would pass along some information about the Boys U11 Try-out Process.

Regional Club League

All players trying out for the Regional Club League (RCL) will be evaluated and placed on a team dependant of their physical ability/agility and skill level. Players will not be evenly distributed throughout the teams. There will be an “A”, “B”, “C” team format. The amount of players trying out for RCL will determine how many teams we will form. The “A”, “B”, “C” team criteria is in alignment with the RCL’s like versus like format. The RCL is the most competitive play offered in the state of .

RCL-Coaching Staff

Ray Evans will be the Age Group Coordinator, Technical Director and “A” Team Head Coach. Coach Evans played professionally in the English Premier League (Tottenham Hotspurs, Millwall FC, Fulham FC & Stoke City FC) & the North American Soccer League (St. Louis Stars, California Surf, Sounders & ). He is a former college coach that holds a USSF “B” License. Most recently, Coach Evans guided his Three Rivers SC U18 Boys team to a Washington State Championship Cup Title!

Matt Pele will be the “B” Team Head Coach. Coach Pele played his college soccer at Western Washington University where he was a 2 time All-GNAC award winner. He was then drafted by the Vancouver Whitecaps and played semi-professionally for numerous teams in the Vancouver B.C. area.

District/Development League

All players trying out for the District/Developmental League will be evenly distributed throughout the teams. The amount of players trying out for the District league will determine how many teams we will form. Coaches have yet to be assigned.

Try-out Process

Players will primarily be evaluated based on their technical ability to pass, shoot, dribble, head and control a ball. They will also be evaluated on their physical ability/agility.

The Try-out session will consist of Technical training, 1v1/2v2/3v3 player progression & finally a full sided 9v9 game to goals.

Try-out evaluators will be Chad Bodnar (Director of Coaching), Ray Evans, Matt Pele and I as well as a few other independent evaluators.
