How much can you earn? The National Minimum Wage for apprentices is currently £3.90 per hour, but the majority of our employers pay more than this. The Apprenticeship Pay Survey for 2016 estimated the average gross hourly pay was £6.70 per hour for a Level 2 and 3 apprentices.

The purpose of the role is to inspire college students and school pupils to compete at major competitions and think about future career options by learning about the 70 plus WorldSkills categories available. Chloe has been able to share her competition experiences and demonstrate the high standard of work required while attending exhibitions, WorldSkills events and school/college visits. Chloe said, “This new role has helped me to not only develop my technical skills, but my personal skills such as confidence and public speaking.”

Makeup Motivation from Celebrity Star 47 Talented students have had an amazing opportunity to travel to London and work alongside professional makeup artists and hairdressers in London at the 69th Miss World competition and London Fashion Week. The student’s work and professionalism was commended by many of the organisers, including Tracey Holt, Head of Standards and Qualifications at Habia/SkillsActive during the Miss World event and Kelly Taylor, Key Makeup Artist and Makeup Designer for the Kolchagov Barba Pop Art collection at London Fashion Week. Tracey said, “Working alongside myself and other renown artists and stylists were Riverside College Hair and Makeup students who stayed calm, professional and confident, producing high standards of Hair and Makeup on the Miss World contestants in a demanding and pressured working environment. Work experience improves standards and raises aspirations.
