The program featured recognition for each branch of the military, as well as special music, speakers and student essays. The pro - gram concluded with a patriotic sing-a-long. Along with speakers Marv Tisdall and Nadim John Antar, three New Underwood stu - dents presented essays they had written. My Responsibility To America by Connor Heinert As an American, I believe that it is my responsibility to be the best citizen that I can be for my country. I believe that each and every one of us should be striving to be the best that we can be, not only for us but for our great nation. As a young stu - dent, it is my responsibility to go to school and learn how to be functioning member of society. So that when the generation ahead of me is gone mine can carry on and be even better, and the generation behind me can be better than mine. There are many ways to take re - sponsibility and be the best for America. Having a job and working to help others is a good thing to do for your country.
