11 ROAD CROSSINGS / JUNCTIONS

There are 5 numbers of major junctions along the project section of the project road and 92 minor junctions. The approach roads are basically feeder roads connecting to villages, agricultural fields and factories along the project road. Mostly these are WBM roads. Rest of the intersections is of lower significance with local roads in urban settlements, village roads and earthen roads. The lists of major junctions are presented in Table E-5below.

12 CROSS DRAINAGE STRUCTURES

There are 16 existing Bridges structures on the project road and 113 culverts along Agra –Etah Road. There are two existing Major Bridges and fourteen Minor Bridges, (6.0 m < Total Length < 60.0m) along Agra –Etah Road.

The total number of structure on the site is given in Table E-8:

EXISTING BRIDGES DETAIL

Detailed inventory and condition survey was carried out along the project stretch, during which 113 culverts (including causeways), 14 Minor bridges and 02 Major bridges were observed as existing Structures to cater for drains, streams & rivers. The recorded data of Bridges (i.e. Inventory and Condition Surveys of Bridges) are given in Feasibility Report (Appendix: Bridge Inventory & Condition Survey) separately submitted.

EXISTING CULVERTS DETAIL

The similar procedures were adopted for the inventory and condition surveys for cross-drainage structures as per guidelines stipulated in IRC-SP: 19-2001. The existing culverts observed along the project road are mainly of four types viz. RCC Slab culverts, Pipe culverts, Arch type culverts and Causeways (Flush). The structural condition of pipe culvert is generally fair, except few partially choked or buried culverts due to heavy vegetation. Most of the slab culverts are in poor condition. Some common distresses observed were damaged parapets, cracked/ damaged headwalls, abutments and return walls, corroded exposed reinforcement, insufficient waterway etc.

Traffic Survey

The traffic surveys have been carried out along the corridor to establish base year traffic as well as travel characteristics. The baseline traffic characteristics are very important for the assessment of future traffic and travel pattern. The survey locations were finalized in consultation with MoRTH.

L. N. Malviya Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. Page | 20 Main Report Chapter 0- Executive Summary Package No. II Agra (Junction on NH-509 near Islam Nagar-Jalesar-Etah(Junction on NH-34 near Police line)

As per marked in satellite image there exist a level crossing at Existing Ch.77+140 and Design Ch.76+950 LC no of this level crossing is 68-C-2 with between Railway Ch. 57+300 and 57+200 km. A ROB with skew angle 20⁰ is to be proposed with span arrangement of 2x30+1x36+2x30 (square length) over this level crossing. Proposed Span arrangement is based on site visit and existing ROW (61m both side of the C/L of track) it may be changed after the discussion with the concerned railway authorities As ROB is proposed for considering the best road geometry and without disturbing the permanent structures so during construction of ROB, level crossing have to be shifted.

Vehicle under Pass (VUP) at Ex. Ch: 4+625

There Exist a Vehicular under Pass at Ex.Ch.4+625 width of VUP is sufficient to cater for two lane so that there is no need for widening.

Existing ROB AT Ex.Ch: 21+450

As per marked in satellite image there exist a ROB at Ex. Ch. 21+450 & Design Ch.21+395. It has been constructed in 2015 (as per local enquiry). Span Arrangement of this ROB is 10 x 24.0 + 1 x 12.0 + 1 x 41.5 + 1 x 12.0 + 8 x 15.0 + 4 x 24.0 with formation width at approach portion is 8.450 m and at ROB portion is 12.0 m with both side footpaths. Condition of this ROB is good enough to retain. If in future 4-lane is proposed than a parallel ROB can be proposed. PROPOSED FACILITIES
