ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES:

All conventional fluorescent lamps at stations, service buildings and staff quarters were replaced with LED Lights.

Over 2000 conventional AC fans were replaced with Energy Efficient BLDC fans in last 2 years. Replacement of remaining fans at Stations and Service Buildings is under progress.

All Conventional unstarred ACs were replaced with either 5 Star Inverter ACs.

Over 60 un starred pumps were replaced with 5 star rated pumps in last 5 years. Replacement of remaining inefficient pumps with more efficient BLDC pumps is under planning.

450 no’s of occupancy sensors were installed for automation of switching lights sensing the occupancy in office rooms, waiting halls, toilets etc. over stations, service buildings in Nanded Division thereby reducing unnecessary wastage of energy.

Lighting circuits at platforms at stations were bifurcated into 2 circuits for operating only 30% lights/fans when it is not necessary keep all the fans/lights on. When train arrives at the platform all the lights/fans will be switched on. For automatic switching of these circuits, timers were installed.

VVVF drives are compulsorily being installed wherever there is scope i.e. for cranes/traversers/ compressors/jacks/hoists/lifts in place of conventional drives to save energy.

Aluminium wiring in old staff quarters is being replaced with copper wiring to reduce the distribution losses by 15%. Rewiring of over 300 quarters was finished in last 5 years.

Street Light circuits were provided with dawn to dusk timers for switching the lights on at evening and switching off at morning.

Timers were installed for automatic switching of Rolling in Examination Lights at stations.
