the 21st century markets town C D E Ulverston is a historic town, built around a cobbled main street containing Lowick Bouth specialist shops, pubs with real ale and open fires, independent hotels, F H restaurants and cafes, many of which serve fresh local produce. G Ulverston is popular for its wide range of well organised festivals and events, A driven by experienced groups of dedicated volunteers.

Ulverston is also known for the Sir John Barrow Monument, a replica of the Eddystone Lighthouse, which stands on Hoad Hill. Ulverston’s canal is famous for being short, straight, deep and wide.
