Spanish Trip By: Rachel Winterfeld Inside this issue: The people who went to Puerto Rico left from the school at 1:30 am on Wednes- day, April 17. Their flight from Detroit took off around 6:00 am and arrived in Houston Hot or Not 2 around 8:00 am. The second flight left a little after 10:00 am and landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico close to 3:30 pm. After meeting the best tour guide ever, Bernardo, they ventured out Mystery Person 3 to see the city of Old San Juan. They visited the forts and had time to shop at little stores up and down the streets of Old San Juan. The shops were filled with all kinds of things, from Sports 4-5 magnets to clothes, you name it, you could find it. On the second day, they went to El Yunque Rainforest. They hiked through the Singles Corner 7 forest until they reached the waterfall. They took a break from hiking and got to swim under the waterfall. After hiking in the rainforest they went to Luquillo Beach. After the beach Couples Corner 7 they went back to the resort, Fajardo Inn Hotel, and had a few hours to swim in the pools before dinner. Senior Spotlight 8-9 On the third day, they went to Rio Piedras. While there, they went to Plaza del Mercado to do a scavenger hunt through the market place. Students were split up into groups and spoke in Spanish to the people in the market place. After the scavenger hunt, they all got on a boat and went to La Parguera, a fishing village. When they got there, they watched Ti- to's show with sea creatures. (Tito was also with them on their whole trip.) Tito put almost COUNTDOWN every sea creature in his mouth, even the octopus. Most of the students put the octopus on By: Katie Gilson their faces, and some students and adults ate a piece of a snail. After the show, they all went swimming in the Bioluminescent Bay. On the way back to the hotel, all of the students danced together on the boat. They didn't want to go back to the hotel because they were hav-  1 Day– Prom ing so much fun. They were in shallower water so it was easier to see sea creatures. After making it around the island, they stopped at a mangrove tree and jumped off into the ocean. On Monday, they went to a preschool in Ponce. The students split up into three  23 Days– Commencement groups; working with the kids, painting a mural, and picking up trash. About four hours after being there, they finished the mural and the kids left. Then they went to Hotel Melia de Ponce and went salsa dancing at a studio. After the dancing they went to a nice dinner and talked about the likes and dislikes about the trip. Tuesday was their last day in Puerto Rico. After breakfast, they checked out of the hotel and went to the airport. Saying goodbye to Tito and Bernardo was really hard for most- ly everyone. Tito and Bernardo became a part of their lives, and nobody wanted to say good- bye. The flight from San Juan to Newark, NJ took off at about 1:00 pm and arrived at around 5:00 pm. The flight to Detroit left around 9:00 pm, so they had a long layover. The flight landed a little after 11:00 pm, they got back to Liberty around 1:30 am, and the trip was offi- cially over. A special shout out to Mrs. Soto, none of this would have been possible if it wasn’t for you! Thank you so much for that opportunity, from everyone who went on the trip!  Page 2 Tiger Tales

App of the Week By: Dylan Gasche This weeks app of the week has been around for a while but is still a classic. It is “Minecraft: Pocket Edi- tion”. Anyone who loves building things in a free environment will love this game. The main object of this game is to survive and build anything that is possible. There are two main modes in this game. There is the survival mode where the object is to not lose hearts and there is creative mode where the object is to have fun and build things. The preferred mode for most people is survival mode. In survival mode, the player has to build a home, survive against the creepers, and mine elements such as stone and iron. The most important thing to find first is a home, and also to build torches and a bed. In creative mode, you are given all the elements and you can build anything that you want to. This game mode is more for the people who do not want to deal with the creepers that are in survival mode. This app can be found on the Apple app store for a price of $5.99. Minecraft is a very fun game and I rec- ommend that everyone try it. Page 6

Couples Corner

Hunter Carnahan and Lexi Noll By: Zach Bare The next lucky couple to be featured in Couples Corner is Hunter Carnahan and Lexi Noll. This couple met way back in 2009 when they played travel soccer together. Also, their dads work to- gether, so their moms were trying to get them to date last January. Their moms’ dreams came true this past August. May 1st was their nine month anniversary. Their first date was a trip to the movies to watch The Campaign and a stop at McDonald’s on the way home. Hunter’s favorite thing about Lexi is her pretty smile and that she is one of the toughest, most strong-willed girls he knows. Lexi likes how he still calls her babe when she makes him mad. Their favorite thing to do together is watching Disney movies together. This jun- ior and freshman couple has had a great ride so far, and they are both hoping for much more fun together in the future. . Page 8
