The Clifton Rocks Railway was a major engineering achievement in the 1890s and operated for 40 years, transporting people from Road to Clifton in passenger cars running in a tunnel in the on TRANSPORT steeply inclined tracks.

CLIFTON ROCKS The Clifton Suspension Bridge is World famous and one of the essential things to see in the West Country. The & SUSPENSION bridge is a beautiful piece of engineering lovingly maintained by the Trustees and in better condition now BRIDGE TOUR than it was when built!

th The Clifton Rocks Railway was an underground funicular Thursday 16 August 2012 railway in Bristol, linking Clifton at the top to Hotwells and at the bottom of the Avon Gorge in a 18:30 – 21:00 tunnel cut through the limestone cliffs whereas the suspension bridge spans the Avon Gorge.
