Volunteer Opportunities I am delighted and humbled to have been selected as the new President of the CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Chapter. First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge Laura Morris, Past President of the chapter, for her dedication, leadership and most importantly guidance over the last year, showing me the ropes in order to prepare me for this very important role. Second, I would like to thank all of our members and sponsors for your involvement and support. Without it, this chapter would not be the great and successful organization that it is! I am extremely fortunate to have a very energetic and strong group of individuals who have joined me in this journey by volunteering to serve on the Board. Together, we are committed to continue bringing value to our members by supporting, educating and promoting the real estate executive. Now for a little bit about me…I will try to be brief and keep the content of this letter as serious as I possibly can, which both are very difficult for me to do. I have over 17 years of real estate experience. I spent about half of my career with Grosvenor Americas as a Senior Asset Manager and the other half with Kaiser Permanente as the Director of Real Estate and Property Management. I have been involved with CoreNet Global for seven years and Share your expertise and support your am one class away from becoming a Master of Corporate Real Estate “MCR.” Chapter... Volunteer today! This year, On a personal note, I am originally from Colombia, South America. I came the Mid-Atlantic Chapter plans to add to the United States in 1986 when my mother brought me as a teenager even more value to its members by (against my will), without speaking one word of English. Now I consider this delivering quality events and educational home and am grateful for the wonderful opportunities this country has to opportunities. To do that, we need the help offer. I have been extremely blessed with the most intelligent and handsome of energetic volunteers just like you! Click child out there, who literally rules my world. On February 29th, CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic members gathered at the Tower Club to learn how to best leverage their investment in CoreNet. This breakfast session examined learning, networking and committee opportunities. There were 20 new members in attendance along with Laura Morris - President, Lorena Stranigan - President-elect, Pierce DeGross and Jeff Groh, Membership Committee Co-Chairs and Karen Fields, Education Committee Co-Chair. We are pleased with the number of new members who have signed up to become actively engaged in our Chapter. Check the Chapter website for information on the next Members-Only Orientation coming this June.

On Monday, April 23rd 92 golfers braved 40 degree weather, featuring rain and wind, for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter Annual Golf Outing. Even though the weather was not cooperative, the tournament was a success. The golfers were in good spirits and everyone enjoyed the course at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, VA. Although many volunteers and sponsors contributed to the success of the outing, the coordination was led by the Golf Outing Committee which included Merrell Ashley with rand*; Jim Young with Marriott; Kevin Dunn with Haworth and Derek Gallardo with HITT Contracting. The Westfields Golf Club staff were excellent, helping Chapter President, Laura Morris with KlingStubbins and Education Committee Chair, Karen Fields with Himes Associates to make the outing run smoothly. After the round was completed, golfers warmed up in the clubhouse over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and networked with those who came just for the banquet. Prizes were given to the first, second and last place teams. A raffle with numerous prizes including gift certificates to Total Wine, Tiffany’s, Lowes, 2012 Awards of Excellence… Golfdom and Best Buy kept all parties interested until the final raffle. Congratulations to all of the lucky winners! Coming this October! Election of New Board of Directors Among Highlights from Thanks to Our Sponsors 2012 Strategic Planning Meeting continued from page 1

In addition to the election of the Gold: new Board of Directors, two new committees were officially created and assigned Committee Chairs. The Community Outreach Committee was created is an effort to increase the Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s involvement in charitable and philanthropic efforts. The Committee, under the leadership of Scott Brideau, will focus on not only raising money for local charities, but providing donations in the form of sweat equity and promoting awareness. The Volunteer Coordination Committee was created to provide a managed resource for both new members as well as members interested in getting more involved in Silver: CoreNet. The Committee, under the leadership of Joanna Hoffschneider, will focus on volunteer placement and new member integration. One of the last committee changes made was the renaming of the Social Media Committee to Communications Committee. The Committee, under the leadership of Julie Morris, will broaden its focus from strictly social media outlets to providing the Chapter with timely, relevant communications that are presented in a focused and consistent manner.
