Fox Atlas Shrugged Part 1 This adaptation of Ayn Rand's 1957 objectivist novel Atlas Shrugged tells the first installment in the story of a dystopian future in which a collectivist society has forced the great thinkers of the world to go on strike, leaving the functioning world without scientists, engineers, philosophers, or artists. Set against this stark backdrop, a railroad heiress named Dagny Taggart tries to bring her failing company back from the brink with the development of a new alloy to repair breaks in the lines, and hopefully calm the business' vital corporate partnership with an oil company. But with the endless bureaucracy of an evil and corrupt government fighting her at every turn, and her own inept brother battling her for control, Dagny soon finds that in order to set things right in her world, things must be set right in the world at large. Fox Sesame Street Bye-Bye, Pacifier Becoming a big kid can be hard sometimes. For a young child it can be tough to give up a binky, learn to ride a tricycle or get a first haircut. With a story where Elmo remembers giving up his binky as the centerpiece, this release will feature stories that preschoolers can relate to, as well as giving useful suggestions to parents at the same time. In the same way that "Elmo's Potty Time" was relevant for our audience, we hope that this title will help kids feel "they can do it" too, just like their good friend Elmo. Sesame Street/Warner Little Big Man Was significant when it was made because of its editing, which was still being explored in Hollywood at the time as a vehicle for innovative, simple storytelling. Arthur Penn's film of Thomas Berger's bestselling novel demystifies the Old West with its funny, chaotic portrayal of one man's experiences in its closing days. Jack Crabb (Dustin Hoffman), a 121-year-old Indian living in a rest home, relates his incredible life experiences. According to Crabb's somewhat fanciful tales, he was raised by the Cheyenne from the age of 10 only to be seized by whites when he was 15. He then embarks on a string of failed attempts to find a place for himself in the world. These bring him into contact with (among many others) Wild Bill Hickok, the US Cavalry, a former preacher's wife-turned-prostitute, his own spunky frontierswoman sister, and General George Armstrong Custer during the Battle of Little Big Horn. Paramount Wrong Turn 4 An isolated sanatorium deep in the West Virginia wilderness is deserted after an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals escape and take revenge on their captors. Decades later, a group of college students seek refuge in the now-abandoned hospital after a blizzard derails their plans for a weekend winter break. But when the students encounter the medical ward's most frightening former patients, their only choice is to fight back...or die trying! Stars Terra Vnesa, Dean Armstrong, Kaitlyn Wong, Jennifer Pudavick Fox Point Blank Nursing student and expectant father Samuel (Gilles Lellouche) enters into a frantic race against time to save his pregnant wife from kidnappers in this taut suspense thriller from the writers and directors of the hit 2007 nail-biter Pour Elle (which was remade in the U.S. as The Next Three Days. It’s fun to play that kind of person,” Paul Rudd said of the stoner screw-up with a big heart he plays in Our Idiot Brother. Plus, there is the character’s goofy look. “There’s something about short-shorts and Crocs and a tank top and a big beard and hair,” he said with a laugh at the Cinema Society screening on Monday. “All of it together, where it wasn’t a hipster uniform, it was just wrong in all the right ways.” Rudd cleaned up nicely, clean-shaven, hair trimmed and sporting a John Varvatos suit, even though the screening was outdoors on the lawn at the MIMA Tower, a new residential building in Manhattan. (Should you be looking for an apartment with an outdoor screening room, this is the place.) The movie was shot in New York City, and co-star Steve Coogan is in town shooting another with Alexander Skarsgard. So what’s it like working with the True Blood heartthrob? “Yeah, when I walk down the street with him, people wolf-whistle,” Coogan said. “All the girls scream, and I wish it was for me, but it’s not.” Outside on the rooftop lawn, the late summer sunset provided the perfect excuse for a pre-screening cocktail party where guests nibbled finger foods and sipped Grey Goose cocktails—the movie couldn’t start until it got dark.
