2007 Choctaw Football 61 2007 CHOCTAW FOOTBALL 61 IN THE PROS Fred 25 MCAFEE Running Back New Orleans Saints National Football League Fred finished his career at Mississippi College in 1990 after leading the Choctaws to the 1989 National Championship. He finished his col- lege career at Mississippi College as the Gulf South Conference’s all-time rushing leader with 4,320 yards and is still MC's all-time leading ground- gainer. He also was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded annually to the best player in Division II football. He earned a degree in mass communications. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 1991 NFL Draft and led the Saints in rushing as a rookie. He finished his career with the New Orleans Saints last season. He has also played with Ari- zona, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2002 and earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week (Week 1). He was a Football Digest second team All-Pro. He is one of the NFL's top special teams players serving as Special Teams Captain for several seasons.
