The transition from the TME Savings’ to Alterna Savings’ banking system begins after regular business hours from Friday, October 23 to Saturday, October 24, 2020. During this period there will be brief interruptions and temporary limitations on services, including ATM banking and debit transactions. Alterna Savings’ online, mobile, and telephone banking is expected to be available to you by early evening on October 24. On Monday, October 26, the branches will open as Alterna Savings and we will be ready to serve you. HOW CAN YOU PREPARE? We’ve worked very hard to keep the number of changes you will experience to a minimum; however, there are some changes you should know about, so you can prepare. Between October 23, 7:00 pm to October 24, 7:00 pm, the work to bring you Alterna Savings’ products and services will be underway. During this time, some banking services will be limited or become unavailable. To help you prepare for the interruption and transition, we’ve created a list of Key Dates and Scheduled Service Interruptions. Review this information to learn more. In the early evening of October 24, you will gain access to the Alterna Savings Contact Centre and our mobile, online, and telephone banking. The Contact Centre will help you with the set-up of these remote banking services and help you become familiar with Alterna’s offerings.

On October 26, you will have full access to any of our branches and all of Alterna’s products and services. If you have specific questions about your TME history, please visit your current branch.

MEMBER NUMBER CHANGES To help you get ready for the banking system changes, you will receive a letter by mail with your new member number in early October. This number will be used for the many ways you bank including online, mobile and telephone banking, so be sure to keep track of it!

Note: If you have more than one member number today, you will receive a new member number for each account.

Changes are coming, and we want to make sure you know what to expect and where to find more information. Learn more about the changes to the products and services by reviewing the information in this brochure. Payment Information INTER-MEMBER TRANSFERS If you send inter-member transfer transactions from your account to another member’s account, they will go through as scheduled until October 23, 2020. Please complete any inter-member transfers immediately or schedule them to be completed prior to the banking system changes on October 23 at 7:00 pm.

After the banking system is changed, transfers can be made in branch and using online or mobile banking to accounts on which you are a joint member or primary account holder. If you would like to transfer funds to an account on which you are not a joint member or primary account holder you can do this at any branch or using Interac e-Transfer®.

CHEQUES You can continue to use your existing cheques. When you need new cheques, order them online or at a branch using your new member number. New cheques will have different encoding numbers on them for your new account. In addition to your new cheques, we will now provide you with Bank Drafts instead of Official Cheques to make certified payments.

FUTURE DATED/RECURRING BILL PAYMENTS, TRANSFERS AND PRE-AUTHORIZED DEBITS/CREDITS There will be no changes to future dated, recurring bill payments, transfers and pre-authorized debits and credits before, during or after the transition to Alterna Savings banking system.

DEBIT CARD You can continue to use your TME Savings debit card as you always have after the banking system change. Enjoy surcharge-free ATM banking and withdrawals from any Alterna ATM or where you see the ACCULINK® or THE EXCHANGE® Network logo. Debit cards will be replaced following the normal card replacement process.

CREDIT CARDS Your current TME Savings Collabria Visa will be replaced with a new Alterna Savings Collabria Visa credit card. You will enjoy the same benefits, retain the same credit limit, and all balances and rewards points will be transferred to the new credit card. A letter announcing this change will be mailed from Collabria on September 23, 2020 to all TME Savings Collabria Visa credit cardholders.

WIRE TRANSFERS Sending or receiving a wire? If you are expecting incoming wire transfers to your account they should be sent with sufficient time to be processed by October 21 at 1:00 pm (EST). Please ensure you update information that you have on file for incoming wire transfers with the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) code and your new account number. Outgoing wires cannot be sent from October 22 to October 26, 2020.

While many services are staying the same, on October 24 at 7:00 pm, you’ll gain access to new services and banking features using Alterna Savings’ mobile app and online banking.

ONLINE BANKING The first time you access online banking you’ll be required to input your new member number, which will be mailed to you separately, and use your TME Savings password. You’ll be prompted to accept the Alterna Savings user agreement, then change your password and set up additional security features for Alterna Savings.

The security alert feature in our online banking system allows you to create notifications to alert you to suspicious online banking activity directly by e-mail or text message. The frequency of the notification will depend upon the type of alert selected.

ALTERNA SAVINGS MOBILE APP Handling your money should be quick and painless. Get the full experience right at your fingertips with the Alterna Savings mobile app. Access your accounts anytime, anywhere, using the same login and password set up for your online banking. It’s available for download at the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Note: Before using our mobile app to bank, login to online banking from your computer or laptop. Once you’ve accepted the online agreement you’ll be given full access to the app!

Experience The Good in Banking Ways to Bank Page 5 ATM To prepare for banking system changes, we are updating the TME Savings ATMs. After the update the ATMs will no longer dispense mini-statements or allow you to make bill payments. Please visit us at a branch or call the Contact Centre for additional support and to learn about the other bill payment options available to you beginning October 25.

BRANCHES After making the change to the Alterna Savings banking platform you will be able to bank at 33 branches across Ontario and, in the future, at three additional branches in the Quinte region. You can find a branch or ATM using our branch and ATM locator on the Alterna Savings website and our mobile app.

CONTACT CENTRE After the transition to the Alterna Savings banking system you will be able to get additional support from our Contact Centre. Our member representatives are available to answer your questions and assist with your banking.

TELEPHONE BANKING You can access telephone banking at 1.877.560.0100 and follow the prompts where you will be required to input your new member number and use your existing password. Then, you will be prompted to set up a new telephone banking password. The new telephone banking password will be 4-8 digits. Your new member number will be mailed to you in early October.

Important: Keep track of your new member number and passwords because you’ll need them for online, mobile and telephone banking.

When you make the transition to the Alterna Savings banking system you will have access to 58 new products and services. They include new savings and chequing accounts, banking packages, term deposits, credit solutions, investment shares and so much more! Here’s a quick glance at a few of the new products and services that will be available to you. Please visit alterna.ca to see our whole suite of products.

INTERAC e-TRANSFER® In addition to sending and receiving money with Interac e-Transfer® you will be able to use these new features: Request Money and Autodeposit which means there’s no need for cheques or visits to an ATM. Plus, it’s secure – there’s no sharing of bank information because all you need is an email address. Interac e-Transfer® is a day-to-day transaction included in your banking package.

Important: Your current Interac e-Transfer® history, sender and recipient profiles can’t be moved to the new banking system. Follow the instructions below to retain and recreate this information and plan for future e-Transfers. • Take screen shots of any sender or recipient profile information or e-Transfer history that is important to you. • Recreate your sender and recipient profiles in online banking after the banking system changes are completed. • Send any Interac e-Transfer® by October 16 at 8:00 pm. These transfers will need to be completed by the recipient by October 21 at 1:00 pm. • Any Interac e-Transfer® that has not been received by the recipient or cancelled by you by October 21 at 1:00 pm will automatically be cancelled and credited to your account. • You will need to re-send the Interac e-Transfer® after the banking system changes are completed.

ME-TO-ME This exciting new service enables you to link your accounts from different financial institutions so you can transfer Canadian funds to other Canadian financial institutions. With this service you can send and receive money and set up convenient recurring and future-dated Me-to-Me transfers. To transfer amounts under $3,000 you can continue to use Interac e-Transfer®.

U.S. DOLLAR TERM DEPOSITS If you want to protect your U.S. dollars from exchange rate fluctuations while earning interest at a guaranteed rate, then this is the perfect investment for you. Other benefits from our U.S. Dollar Term Deposits include: • Flexible terms available - Terms from 30 days to 5 years. • Competitive interest rates - Guaranteed for the term of your investment.

ACCOUNT NAME CHANGES If you have more than one chequing or savings account, you will still have the same number of accounts, however, you may notice that their names have changed. A sequential number will be applied to each account name to help distinguish between accounts. For example, if you currently have a Chequing Lite and Chequing Standard account, they will both be called Simply Chequing and they will be identified by a sequential number: Simply Chequing 1 and Simply Chequing 2.

You will not need to take any action as any cheques or Pre-Authorized Debit / Payment (PAD / PAP) instructions you have in place for these accounts will continue to work as usual.

If you wish to rename your account to something other than the system default name you can do so through online banking.

PRODUCT NAME CHANGES To make it easier for you, we’re simplifying the way some of our products are named, as well as merging a few similar products. The charts on the following pages illustrate the new product names as they’ll appear on your statements, and on online and mobile banking.

TME Savings High Interest eSavings Account This account is being discontinued, but don’t worry, you’re being moved to our Investment Savings Account (Alterna ISA). Speak to your banker to discuss your product options.

Note: If you use your TME Savings High Interest eSavings Account for everyday transactions, contact us following the banking system change. We can find an account solution that is perfect for you.

RRSP, RRIF AND TFSA CONTRACT NUMBER CHANGES Your registered plan contract number is changing for registered plans such as RRSPs, RRIFs and TFSAs. This new contract number will support the Revenue Agency (CRA) regulatory reporting requirements. There’s nothing you need to do and any automated payments or contributions you have in place will continue. A letter announcing this change has been mailed to all RRSP, RRIF and TFSA plan holders. If you selected to be paid the interest you have earned on your term deposit(s) held within your RRIF plan annually, this arrangement will continue until October 22. Beginning October 23, interest earned on your term deposit(s) within your RRIF plan will be paid monthly.

Important: Payments to Your Line of Credit Currently, all payments are applied directly to the accrued interest and balance outstanding at the time of payment. After October 23, 2020 all payments will be applied directly to the balances owing only and not the accrued interest. At the end of each month, the total interest owed will be charged to your Line of Credit. This change will not increase or decrease the amount of interest that you are charged. You will continue to receive monthly statements with the total payment required.
